My contact with the Samsung brand began with S1, and the 91-gram S1 that year simply subverted my perception of mobile phones, and I saved money for half a year to buy the first Samsung mobile phone --- the Korean version of S1. Then to the Taiwan version S2, S4 Asia-Pacific version, S7 Hong Kong version, S10+ National Bank and then to the National Bank S23ultra, which was launched last week. The last S10+ took a full 4 years, and it is really worthy of the slogan: ten generations, ahead of the times. Seriously, in fact, in the 3rd month after the S10+ warranty, the screen was broken once in that position of the curved surface, and the broken screen was the outer screen. At that time, I heard that S20U, focusing was not a hardware problem, and I even scanned a QR code for half a day, so I didn't start. It took 500 to replace the outer screen. As a result, half a year later, it was broken again, this time whether the inner and outer screens were broken, or the position of the curved surface was broken, I originally wanted to take it on, but then the whole screen was not displayed. Although the S21U had been launched at that time, I heard that the Snapdragon 888 was hot, so after thinking about it, it took 1500 to officially change the entire screen assembly. Later, last year my S10+ screen was broken again, or curved places, but fortunately this time although broken, there is a black spot, other functions do not affect, and read the review that the processor 8GEN2 of S22U is still crotch-pulling, so I have been enduring the black spot, endured until the current S23ultra. (PS: My S10+ has always worn a mobile phone case, and also has a tempered film, and each time the broken screen actually does not exceed 30CM, falling from a very low height, just fell to the curved surface and broke, so I really love and hate the curved screen, and before buying S23ultra, I also struggled with whether to start 23+ for 2 months.) By the way, I forgot to say that after the screen has dark spots, the dark spots will spread, and my dark spots have gone from the size of a fingernail at the beginning to the current 6 minutes 1 screen is not visible.
S10+ for 4 years
Appearance:
After every S10+ breaks, I actually go to see other brands of phones. For example, Xiaomi 11ultra, 12ultra, 13ultra, such as Huawei's mate40pro, mate50pro, P60pro, such as vivo's X80pro, X90RO+, etc., I have to go to the physical store experience, but! Without exception, the moment those domestic machines saw the screen, they dissuaded me. Despite Lei Jun, Yu Chengdong bragged about the screen of their own mobile phones, although how many trolls on the Internet said that a certain domestic machine and such a screen surpassed Samsung. But the real machine is held in the hand for a comparison, and this transparent, clear, and vivid between the two cannot compete with the Samsung S10+. Someone will definitely bar with me, Samsung blind screen, no dimming. I'm sorry, I'm not very sensitive to screen flash, but the brightness, clarity and pleasing eyeballs of the Samsung S10+ are unsurpassed by domestic mobile phones, including Apple. Until here, many people should be wondering, why do I keep mentioning S10+? Because I always thought that Samsung screen was yyds in my heart, so I never questioned Samsung screen until I unboxed S23ultra. My S23ultra was bought in the Samsung official store, and after the activation was completed, my first feeling was: it's over, it's overturned. What the hell is this screen? Blurry, no sense of transparency at all, too strong smearing, very dark screen. Did I buy a fake refurbished Samsung phone, it doesn't make sense, the official store can still overturn? All kinds of activation codes and various inspections are new. Then I tried to change the display settings, found that the default resolution is 2316*1080, quickly adjusted it to 3088*1440, after the setting, the screen is a little clearer, but compared with the S10+ display effect, it is still far from it. Later, I researched it and found that the S23ultra's automatic brightness adjustment always likes to set the brightness to the minimum. Probably if the automatic brightness adjustment divides the screen brightness into 1-100 brightness, in the same place indoors during the day, the automatic brightness adjustment of S10+ will generally be adjusted to the range of 40-60, and 23ultra will adjust the brightness to the range of 10-15. As long as you turn on automatic brightness adjustment, there is often a situation where the screen is very dark, and I can only manually turn the brightness up. In the days that followed, this automatic brightness adjustment learned itself like AI, and the situation was much better. But it will still be cramps, turn the brightness extremely low. But even if I adjust the resolution and brightness, the screen is still not as transparent as S10+, vivid, there are still many places blurry, and the screen is white. This situation is especially obvious when brushing videos, such as watching today's headline videos, brushing Douyin, and brushing Xiaohongshu videos, and the viewing experience is really poor. I went to Samsung's official after-sales center with a skeptical attitude, tested it, the screen is not a problem at all, and the machine is also the original brand new national bank. But why this blurred, whitish visible to the naked eye? Then I studied it carefully, and the problem should lie in the following three aspects:
First, Samsung S10+ is a 6.4-inch screen, S23ultra is a 6.8-inch screen, and the resolution is the same. So the same photo, at the same resolution, will appear sharper on a small screen than on a large screen. This is equivalent to magnifying a photo from 100% to 120%.
Second, at present, most of the videos on Douyin, Toutiao, Xiaohongshu, and B stations have low native resolutions and uneven quality. The low-resolution video was originally on the S10+, because the screen is small, it doesn't feel so obvious, but the smearing feeling on the upper edge of the S23ultr is obvious.
Third, the S23U screen itself is not as visible as S10+, at 60 ° to see the two screens, S23ultra has a significant color cast, S10+ almost lossless.
Fourth, the screen of S10+ is white, it is milky white, very white and good-looking. The S23ultra's screen shows white as cold white like LED lights. (I have tried color grading or adjusting the cool or warm color screen in the display settings, no matter how you adjust it, it is not as comfortable as the S10+.) )
Fifth, the screen sharpness, color gamut performance is not as good as S10+.
Summary: From the screen perception, Samsung S10+ to S23ultra is visually disappointed, no progress is even if it is a regression. Especially in apps such as Brush Toutiao, Douyin, and Xiaohongshu, the gap is more obvious. But if there are particularly clear videos or photos, such as 4K, 8K videos and photos put on the S23ultra, its display effect is not inferior to the S10+. Unfortunately, most of the apps used in daily life are low-resolution. Until this moment, I finally understood why 23,23+ would cut the 3088*1440 resolution, because once the small and medium cups use 3088*1440, the display effect is definitely better than 23ultra. Unless the ultra series will be upgraded to 4K resolution in the future, the large and medium cups of the S series will no longer use 3088*1440 resolution in the future.
In the same video comparison on today's headlines, the beauty on the left has a significantly better skin tone, the beauty on the right is pale, and the left side of the button is very clear, and the right side is pasted
The font is noticeably clearer than the S10+, while the S23Ultra font edges are already pasty, especially the purple lettering
At the same time turning on the king, the background of the S10+ is bluer, the S23Ultra is a little white, and the words below the announcement, S23Ultra are blurry.
Performance article
I believe many bloggers have made a lot of reviews about this, and I don't play Genshin myself, so I won't go into detail about the data. Interestingly, when the background is cleared, the room temperature is 32 degrees (no air conditioning is turned on) and all the screen settings are the highest, S10+ plays the king for 1 hour at 60 frames, the maximum temperature on the front is 44.1 ° and the maximum temperature on the back is 40.5 °. The S23ultra is the king for 1 hour at 120 frames, with a maximum temperature of 44.2° and a maximum temperature of 41° behind it. The temperature is almost the same, the only difference is that one is a 60-frame run and the other is a 120-frame run. So I feel that this 8gen2 chip and Snapdragon 855 are at a level in terms of heat dissipation, which may be that the previous 888 and 8gen1 are too crotch-pulling. The current 8gen2 is just returning to Qualcomm's original level, and does not say that it has reached the point of ice dragons. There is also a relatively good improvement, that is, when S10+ plays games, as long as you call or SMS, whether you are connected to wifi or use traffic, 100% of the game will be dropped, especially when you encounter a group to call, your game will drop is a very depressing thing, but S23ultra will not, you can achieve while calling and playing the king. There is also the screen is bigger, the king is beaten, and the field of view of eating chicken is indeed much wider. When eating chicken, the S23ultra can see someone ambushing there, while the S10+ can't see it at all. If you play the king, the side road used to be often seen by the opposite card, and the S23ultra does not exist, and even when playing a hundred miles, you can see whether there is anyone in the 2 tower in the 1 tower. This is a very exaggerated thing, maybe this is the advantage of the large screen, innate physical plug-in. But everything is good and bad, and the design of the S23Ultra is a minus in terms of gaming, because that speaker is exactly the opposite of the S10+, one on the right and one on the left. As a result, when playing games, the handheld position just blocks the speaker. It is clear that it has been turned on to the loudest, but the result is still very small. If you turn the screen upside down to play the game, the sound is very loud, but the camera behind it will be very chrome and uncomfortable. This is a place where the gaming experience is very minus. As for someone complaining that the S23ultra is too straight on all four sides and holds a chrome hand. I don't have a problem with this, probably because I wear a phone case. Of course, if you are bare-metal, 100% S10+ is more comfortable, but after wearing a phone case, the difference is not so big. The only difference is that the phone is heavy, and I do feel tired at first, but after using it for a week, I don't feel heavy.
Daily use
It's still the same old way, first say the good and then talk about the bad.
First, the first is the sound quality, the improvement of the sound quality of the S23ultra is still very obvious, its speaker power is larger, the sound is generally louder and listens to more layered, after turning on Dolby surround sound, it is also more three-dimensional than S10+, and the upper limit of the treble performance I feel inferior to the S10+.
Second, vibration, S23ultra uses an X-axis linear motor, while S10+ uses a Z-axis linear motor, and the difference between the two is quite obvious. The S10+ is more intense and reflects more quickly. Although the S23ultra is weaker, the vibration will be richer, especially when some setting switches are turned on, the S23ultra will be more comfortable. The vibration feeling of the S23ultra is start-weak-strong-weak-stop, and the S10+ is start-strong-stop. For me personally, the S23ultra shock is a plus, but there are also people who prefer the S10+ shock.
Third, the power button, volume key and bixby button of S10+ are generally on the upper side, even if there is only a 6.4-inch screen, but it is difficult to operate with one hand when actually using. The S23ultra, although the fuselage is larger, the position is just right, and there is no problem at all with one hand operation. And fingerprint unlocking is also, S10+'s fingerprint unlock is biased, although it can be unlocked normally when the one-handed thumb is unlocked, but the thumb is actually quite uncomfortable, and it is necessary to deliberately go down. The location of S23ultra's fingerprint unlock is just right and comfortable, and the fingerprint unlock module of S23ultra is much larger than that of S10+, so the unlock success rate is much higher than that of S10+.
Fourth, SPEN, some people think that this is a business person will use, I am not a business person, but in fact, I changed from S10+, found that SPEN will really be much more convenient, such as cutout, such as cropping, such as selfies, etc., these are actually used by ordinary people quite frequently. But there are also things that are not good enough, and the most uncomfortable thing is handwriting input. When chatting WeChat, if you don't switch the handwriting mode and directly pull out the spen to write, its writing area is extremely small, only 2 times the size of the dialog box. And at the bottom of the screen, this makes a lot of words actually quite difficult to write.
The heart rate sensor has been removed from the S23ultra. I have always felt that the heart rate sensor is used quite frequently, and it is also an important point that distinguishes it from other domestic mobile phones, but I found that the S23ultra is actually gone. The reason is to make way for my own watch, cut the heart rate sensor and pressure sensor, and integrate it into my own watch, I think this is quite disappointing.
Sixth, obviously support 45 watts super fast charge, but the data line sent is only 3A, although it can trigger the function of super fast charging, but only 25 watts, this is very undeserved. You also have to buy another 5A data cable to charge at full power. It took 97 minutes to go from 10% to full with the built-in data cable, and 53 minutes from 10% to full with a 5A data cable. The difference is still obvious. Moreover, the data line sent is a double C interface, and my old computer has to find another line to transmit data.
Seven, many themes in the theme store are not perfectly adapted to S23ultra, manifested in the desktop icons, some large, some small, the icons look old and one small is very awkward to slowly find the appropriate theme and icon.
Eight, kill the background situation, there is a killing background phenomenon, but it is far better than the s10+, after all, there is 4GB more memory. S10+ daily use, the background is generally only about 6, 23Ultra can have more than 10. Mention it, don't open the game, many bloggers test more open the game, and then go to test the background situation, at first glance it seems that the background is all killed, but in fact, Samsung's own game assistant is ghosting, as soon as you enter the game, the default is all kill except the game. Of course, this can be set.
Battery life, photography
If you take pictures, in fact, there is nothing to say, major bloggers have detailed comments, my feeling is that compared to S10+ can be said to be an all-round crush, yes, it is crushing! Whether it's video or photography, the imaging effect of any lens crushes the S10+. However, it is worth mentioning that S10+ is actually in the last 4-5 versions of the system update, the photo effect is significantly reduced, which may be official intentional. (Excluding the unclean camera, the photos taken are not as good as before, and even start to blur a little.) When I first bought the S10+, it was also very clear. )
Speaking of battery life, we have to mention Samsung's gel battery, after the note7 of that year for safety, switch to gel battery, its advantage is super durable, safe, the disadvantage is that it does not support fast charging. I believe that many people will spray Samsung's slow charging, but if you look at the flagship machines of various mobile phone manufacturers, none of them dare to use their top fast charging technology. Generally, those fast charges of more than 100 watts are reserved for their own low-end machines. Why? Because super fast charging super damage the battery, the service life is greatly reduced, and secondly, super fast charging needs to do additional heat dissipation in the fast charging module, which is bound to lead to thicker mobile phones, and the flagship machine is originally crammed into more hardware than the low-end machine, so there is no space to do super fast charging. Secondly, leaving their own low-end models to do fast charging of more than 100 watts is also an experiment, after all, any problems do not affect the status of their own flagships. Back to S10+, S10+ I used it for 4 years, in these 4 years because of work, I need to use the mobile phone with a bright screen almost all day, so two charges a day can't run away. However, it is not that the S10+ battery life is not good, but that I use my phone too often. In terms of battery life, I specially tested it, used 4 years of S10+, full power to shutdown, the whole flow hit the king for 3 hours and 18 minutes, the remaining 32% of the power on the headline brush video, actually can still insist on 1 hour and 24 minutes. This is the excellence of gel batteries, which have hardly decayed for 4 years. And my family and my S10+ bought the Xiaomi 9 pro in the same year, the king turned off for 2 and a half hours of full play, while the Apple 11 pro was a little better, full battery hit the king for 2 and a half hours and there was 17% power left, and the king turned off directly in 3 hours. And what about the S23ultra? What is the battery life? My conclusion is that the rules are not as godly as the Internet says. Under 5G traffic, the king is fully charged and turned off for more than 5 hours, and in daily use, S23ultra gives me a feeling that it is better than this S10+ in hand, but there is no obvious, very top difference. Pure fight king, about 1 and a half hours more battery life, daily use is about 2-3 hours more. The S10+ is a 4000 mAh battery with a 6.4-inch 60Hz screen, while the S23ultra is a 5000 mAh, 6.8-inch 120Hz screen. But! My S10+ has been using it for 4 years. If the S10+ is a brand new machine, it is not certain who will kill the deer. Still that sentence, the Snapdragon 8GEN2 just returned to the normal level of Qualcomm's normal play, and did not bring too many surprises. (It may also be a version problem, because I heard that the latest version of S23ultra has significantly lower battery life than the previous version)
It took 4 years for S10+ to fight the king
summary
Switching from S10+ to S23ultra, pertinently speaking, there are improvements and regressions, the most obvious improvement is to take pictures, and the most obvious step is the screen. For me, the Samsung system is actually really easy to use, taking the minimalist route, but everything needs to be DIY by yourself, even if I have used the Samsung mobile phone for so long, from the moment the S23ultra arrived, I also got it for a whole day to DIY it into the most convenient system, but all DIY after it is very comfortable to use, at least not as many advertising thieves as domestic mobile phones, and there are many thieves with their own family buckets. Even after 4 years of S10+, the system is still smooth and there is no stuttering. For me personally, 4 years ago, the S10+, 8+128GB version bought by 6999, and the S23ultra, 12+256GB version bought by 7699 4 years later, the price difference is not much, it is suitable as a replacement, but don't give too high expectations.
