Compared with the wide-cast and full-capture mNGS technology, tNGS reduces the number of target pathogenic microorganisms, focuses on common clinical pathogenic microorganisms, and excludes the influence of human nucleic acid fragments on detection sensitivity through specific amplification, making NGS pathogen detection more suitable for the actual needs of relatively fixed clinical pathogen species, high sensitivity specificity requirements, and high detection cost control requirements.

In addition, nanopore sequencing technology (Nanopore) has the advantages of long length, portability, no sample amplification and real-time sequencing, which greatly reduces the detection time compared with NGS, and further meets the high requirements for detection timeliness of infectious disease pathogenic microorganisms.
