Infrastructure representing the latest ideas in urban planning, the case of Shanghai's four major urban railways under construction, is on display.
Recently, the 2023 Shanghai Infrastructure Quality Improvement Design Achievements Exhibition kicked off at the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, displaying the phased achievements of urban railways, municipal stations and rail transit.
Municipal railways, municipal stations, and rail transit are infrastructure that ensures the operation and development of cities. In the past, the number of infrastructures was large, widely distributed, and different forms, and there were shortcomings such as insufficient systematic planning, single design mode, lack of landscape design, and extensive fast-forward development. Shanghai started with a part of infrastructure and explored the implementation of the whole life cycle concept.
The exhibition is divided into preface, the road of leap and expansion, the source of a better life, and the network of urban renewal. The "Leap and Expansion Road" focuses on four urban railways, namely the Airport Connection Line, the Demonstration Area Line, the Nanhui Branch Line and the Jiamin Line.
Among them, the demonstration area line, airport connection line and Nanhui branch line are interconnected, which is the main rail transit artery that crosses the east and west of Shanghai. The total length of the three-section urban railway is about 160 kilometers, the design speed is about 160 kilometers per hour, using the large station express train, the demonstration area line from Shuixiang Living Room Station to Hongqiao Station is 32 minutes, Hongqiao Station to Pudong T3 Terminal is about 43 minutes, and T3 Terminal Station to Lingang Open Area Station is about 13 minutes, so it is expected that the whole journey will take 90 minutes, and the average station spacing is about 8 kilometers.
"One line, one style, one station, one plan" is the biggest highlight of urban railway design.
For example, the Nanhui Branch Line is an innovative longitudinal line, cultural context section and ecological display corridor, which runs from the Oriental Hub in the north to the sub-center of the Lingang New Area in the south, connecting important suburban activity spaces such as Laogang Country Park and Binhai Forest Park along the line.
The station can be jointly developed with surrounding plots. The design around the station of Lingang Open Area emphasizes urban passion and futurism, and adopts a number of sunken squares to connect with the station body, enhancing the combination of the station and the surrounding land development.
The intensive use of station land is also a new trend. The Xiayan Road Station building is located in the south area of the airport in Lingang New Area, because the area is dominated by aviation intelligent manufacturing and research and development, so the concept of the station design is "spreading wings for the future", and the overall intention is taken from the image of soaring aircraft. It also creatively connects the outdoor urban passage into the main body of the station, avoiding the fragmentation of land space on both sides of the line by the traditional elevated station, and maximizing the use of land space.
Another example is the Airport Link from Hongqiao Integrated Transportation Hub in the west to Dongfang Integrated Transportation Hub in the east, which takes about 40 minutes. At present, Hongqiao Airport and Pudong International Airport are connected, only Metro Line 2, which takes 1.5 hours by car, and more than 1 hour by car to take the Outer Ring Expressway and Yingbin Avenue. The construction of the airport link line connects a number of north-south rail transit lines, enhances the convenience of transfer, and will effectively promote the development and construction of Shanghai East Railway Station and its surrounding hub core area.
The station will place more emphasis on convenience services. Sanlin South Station is equipped with 2 entrances and exits and a "good life box", as well as a citizen post station and a service station. The "Good Life Box" 15-minute community life circle is the design concept in the construction of future stations.
For another example, the demonstration area line is the engine first line, the core backbone line, and also the low-carbon line in Jiangnan. The demonstration area line is connected with Jiangsu Water Town Tourism Line and Zhejiang Xitang Line, forming a complete transportation network. After completion, the demonstration area line will become a key transportation link between important functional areas such as Hongqiao International Open Hub and Qingpu New Town.
Among them, Zhujiajiao Station is located in the northwest side of the intersection of Zhufeng Highway and Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway, which is an elevated three-story station with 4 entrances and exits and various service facilities such as rest stations. The style of Yunshui painting eaves in Zhujiajiao Ancient Town was extracted, and the traditional double-sloped roof was used as the prototype, and evolved into a continuous straight curved roof with varying heights.
Finally, the Jiamin Line is the spine of the western rail network, stretching from Jiading New Town in the north to Xinzhuang Sub-Center in the south, and is the first urban railway in Shanghai to directly serve the comprehensive transportation system of the new city, which will help the construction of Jiading New City and significantly improve the accessibility and radiation range of Jiading New City, Hongqiao International Central Business District, Minhang Main City Area and other areas. The Jiamin Line is highly consistent with Okami, so it is known as the "Railway on the Oldest Sand Ridge", and it is a new ancient line that connects the past and the future.
Among them, Jinyuan 5th Road Station is located at the intersection of Cao'an Highway and Lexiu Road, which is an underground two-story island station. The station has 3 passenger entrances and exits, two sets of wind pavilions, a fire evacuation port and a cooling tower. With the guiding concept of "green plain", build an ecological park site rooted in nature.
The exhibition is co-organized by Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources, Shanghai Urban Investment (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Shentie Investment Co., Ltd. and will last until August 31.
