How does the turbo version perform – experience the Lavida 280TSI

author:Sima Jiaxu

By chance, I test-drove the Lavida Plus280 before my friend's facelift, I had previously driven the 1.5 self-priming version, and I was still more interested in the 280 version, and this time I just filled in this pit. (It just rained on the day I drove, and the owner's car was messy, everyone be considerate)

This car looks at the production date of May 21, and it has driven more than 13,000 kilometers, which is still relatively new. The 280 version of the 1.4T engine is matched with 150 horsepower and seven-speed dual-clutch, and this powertrain has been in service for many years and is already familiar to everyone. In terms of actual performance, absolute power is okay, daily low-speed driving is naturally not a problem, although there is some attenuation after the speed is fast, but it is certainly not a problem to meet the needs of the target consumer group (after all, the target consumers basically bought the 1.5 self-priming version). The power performance of some high-power opponents in the same class is not much different. The ride is good, and although it is a dual-clutch, there are basically no noticeable setbacks or bumps throughout the process. Gear switching can also be done more coherently, and the action of shifting gears is basically not perceptible. However, the car still does not start so well, and some jitter can still be detected at normal starts, which is not particularly neat. At the same time, after the car starts, it will be upgraded to second gear early (basically 4-5km/h), and if you maintain this speed, it is still a little shaky. After the speed rises, the shift logic of this car is still relatively normal, and normal driving can basically be maintained at about 2,000 revolutions before changing gears, which is much better than some models with the same powertrain in the same group of 1,450 gears. The power response is generally okay, and the power request at medium and low speeds is slower. After the speed rises, the small power request is still relatively fast, and stepping on a little more vehicles is also willing to downshift. There is some latency in large power requests, but considering that the hardware is also normal. At the same time, I briefly tried the S gear, the overall logic is okay, if you accelerate normally, you can maintain a low gear and high speed, if you don't step on it particularly fiercely after a while, you can also raise the gear, not so irritable. The problem of non-linearity in throttle calibration also exists, anyway, I personally feel that I can adapt to it, but it is not a big problem. In general, this powertrain performs decently on this car, although there are some flaws, but it is relatively easy to drive compared to some models in the same group that also use this powertrain.

The chassis performance is separated, the small shock treatment is not bad, the large shock treatment is also acceptable, the front axle is okay when passing through some continuous potholes, and the rear axle will have some left and right shaking. There is a certain feeling of heaviness when passing through speed bumps, but the front axle will have a secondary jump, and the rear axle will be relatively more jumpy than the front axle. Considering the hardware, this performance is understandable.

The sporty performance is praised, although this time it is subject to the environment and there is no fierce driving (rain), but to apply my previous performance in driving the 1.5 model is not a big problem, although the limit is not very high, but the body attitude control is okay, a little faster is not a big problem.

The steering feel is praised, the base force is still relatively light, the gain with speed and angle is relatively linear, and the damping matching is also quite good. The front of the car responds generally, or a clear family car feeling. Directivity and body following are ok.

The brake foot feel is still a little empty at the beginning of Volkswagen's more classic, and there is no problem with the release after that, and it is relatively easy to adapt.

NVH is generally okay, the suppression of wind noise and road noise is okay, the engine noise is relatively obvious, and the isolation of ambient sound is general.

Statically, Lavida has also been on the market for a long time, basically everywhere on the road, there is not much to say, overall it is quite atmospheric.

The interior is also the previous Volkswagen family design style, it looks like there is no problem, there is no problem with the workmanship, the materials are more general, mainly hard plastic, the car machine does not seem to be the original car machine we passed.

The front ergonomics are generally okay, and the steering wheel position scheduling is still relatively large, but the seat I think the front knee point is a little too high and not adjustable, in my personal habits, I can only be forced to sit higher to adapt. In addition, some of the ways to twist the keys of this car are very different, and many of Volkswagen's latest era models have similar problems. The rear row is general, the space is still quite large, the seat is not very comfortable, the backrest angle will be steeper, and the trunk space is still quite good. The configuration of this car is also some basic configuration, there is nothing to say about it.

Overall, the performance of this car I think is okay, compared with the downstream 1.5 model, I think even if there is only a slight power demand, this 280 model is more suitable, although this car also has some inherent problems, but the calibration of the 1.5 model is actually not much better. Of course, the users who buy Lavida should mainly be the consumers who do not care about the power. At the same time, the car has also been remodeled in the middle of the term, and the 280 model has been replaced by a new powertrain. Neither the 1.5 version I wrote before nor this 280 version can be directly applied to the new model, so everyone can just have fun.
