The past 2022/23 season was the most brilliant season of "Little Steel Cannon" Mark Allen's career. After losing weight, he won three ranking tournament titles in the Northern Ireland Open, British Championship and Grand Prix, and was the player with the most titles this season! He also reached the semi-finals of the World Championships, losing to Selby by a narrow margin, but it did not affect his election as WST Player of the Year. He currently holds nine ranking titles, and like Ding Junhui, he is only one precious world championship away from unlocking the achievement of winning all three tournaments.
