Before and after the liberation of Huaxian County

Li Yingyu sorted out

On May 23, 1949, Huaxian County was peacefully liberated, thus ending the reactionary rule of the Kuomintang and giving Huaxian a new life.

(2) The establishment of the Huaxian Work Committee of the Communist Party of China and its main activities (continued)

In order to grasp the enemy's special activities, the branches made use of various connections as much as possible to drive underground party members into the enemy's stronghold.

For example, in order to grasp the whereabouts of Zhang Yaxuan, commissioner of the Kuomintang Second Administrative Office of Shaanxi Province stationed in Huaxian County, the Huaxian Work Committee used its United Front relationship to install Wang Zhongda, former police chief of Hancheng County (a native of Huaxian County, who was captured by me during the liberation of Hancheng, and was able to confess and repent after education, and was later released back to Huaxuan County) and became a confidential secretary so that he could supply intelligence to the underground party at any time. When Wang Zhongda learned that Zhang Yaxuan wanted to arrest Zhang Zhenduo, an underground party member, and Yang Junjie, an underground party member in Huayin County, he promptly relayed it to our underground party organization. When Zhang Yaxuan fled, Wang Zhongda kept the confidential case files of the Second Special Commission, and handed them all over to our Public Security Bureau after liberation.

The People's Government of Huaxian County in the last century is a chronicle of Huaxian County

The Huaxian Self-Defense Corps is a regular local armed force of the Kuomintang. Whether or not this armed force can be controlled in the hands of our underground party has a direct bearing on the great issue of whether Huaxian can be peacefully liberated. For this reason, the underground party not only first connected with Comrade Shen Dingyuan, who served as deputy head of the self-defense regiment, but also, through the recommendation of Mr. Gu Yishan, sent underground party members Wang Youji, Zhou Yuqing, Shi Zhihua, Li Mengwen, and other comrades into the self-defense regiment, and promoted Li Zhicheng as a communist. An underground party branch was formed within the self-defense group, with Comrade Shen Dingyuan as its secretary. The comrades of this party branch brilliantly fulfilled all the tasks of struggle assigned by the party, and after obtaining information on the search and arrest of underground party members on two occasions, they promptly conveyed it to the organization, quickly evacuated and escaped, and frustrated the enemy's plan.

Around its party and government organs and reactionary leaders, our underground party members have also been arranged to keep abreast of information. For example, in the county party department, there are Zhao Anbang, a member of the Communist Party, Zhao Quanbi and Wang Qinzhi, members of the Communist Party, Gu Chongli, a member of the Communist Party, in the education section, Zhou Zhongxing, a member of the Communist Party, and Guo Mengling, a member of the Communist Party, in the second special office. Serving as the guard squad leader beside Li Zuotang was Communist Party member Wang Deyi, serving as the guard platoon leader next to Wang Zhongmou was Communist Party member Lei Zhenkun, and at He Yong'an's side was Wu Xiliang (United Front Connection, who joined the party after liberation). There are also some underground party members who have entered the township and protected. These comrades, in the tiger's den, both monitored the activities of the enemy, obtained intelligence, and carried out underground party work.

The Kuomintang 18th Appeasement Office, stationed in Huaxian County, was a special agent of the special high military commander from Xi'an to Baoji, Duan Huating, who was a professional special agent who had worked with Comrades Shi De and Wang Yingzhao in the 38th Army. Shi knew that Duan was cunning, greedy for money, and gambling. According to Comrade Wang Pingfan's instructions, in order to grasp Duan's counterrevolutionary activities, Shi Zhiduan became a shareholder, and opened a general store in Wang Xiang, Hucun, with Wang Fuhua, who was actively close to our party, as the manager, so as to lure Duan to come to the grocery store frequently. They did what they liked, eating and drinking with Duan, playing mahjong, each time intending to let Duan win a little and take advantage of something, in order to understand the enemy situation in frequent contact and small talk. In this way, Duan Huating's spy activities were monitored by the underground party, which facilitated the activities of our underground party. There are also comrades scattered in various places, who have also played a certain role to varying degrees in the struggle against the enemy.

In order to facilitate the development of the party's work, the county work committee instructed underground party members who, if possible, should make use of all kinds of connections as much as possible and use various means to obtain an open and legal identity in the enemy's party, government, military, police, and other key departments, and use the enemy's "stage" to perform our "plays." At that time, Comrade Gu Chongli used his position as principal of Dawangmiao Primary School and inspector of the county education section to travel to and from the county capital, organs, and schools, secretly transmitting intelligence and study materials, and never aroused the suspicion of the enemy. At the same time, using the school as a position, it repeatedly received, covered and rescued underground party comrades, and developed a number of party members in the education system.

After Wang Pingfan, a member of the Huaxian Work Committee, sent Comrade Zhao Anbang back to Huaxian in 1947, he successively collected and provided for the party in his public capacity as a primary school teacher, a clerk of the county party department, and a document of the Xiguan police stationed in the police station, collecting and providing the party with the merger of the county party department and the registration figures of Kuomintang members, the organization and staffing of county-level organs, and controlling the armed police personnel stationed in the Xiguan station. Comrade Wang Pingfan risked four times to go deep into the county party headquarters, all of which were received by Comrade Zhao Anbang and provided information.

Once Comrade Wang Pingfan borrowed the convenience of picking up Comrade Jigang's organizational relationship at Shaohua Middle School, and came to the house of Zhao of the county party department late at night to avoid enemy surveillance. At this time, Wang and Zhao had not yet got up, such as opening the door, Wang Qianheng found Wang Pingfan, Zhao and Wang were in danger of arrest at that time, in this extremely critical situation, Comrade Wang Pingfan was in a hurry, he asked Zhao to answer: "I won the card game last night, I slept late, wait a while, I will get up and enter the restaurant, please your guests." Wang Qianheng believed it and turned to leave. Comrade Wang Pingfan hurriedly dressed, took out a ticket for Zhao to entertain, and took advantage of the fact that no one at the back door escaped and left.

Comrade Shi De used his public status as a security chief, in addition to controlling the ferry port of Hongshan Village, he also cleverly used the power of the chief to resist Ding and Ding. All those who are sent to the top are to be apportioned according to the amount of land and half of the land, and they are replaced by grain money, and the land is rich and the burden is large, and the grain and money are used to hire ding and hire servants. At the same time, they secretly gave some people ventilation and let them take the opportunity to escape, so that the enemy soldiers could not be caught, and the people and wealth were lost.

Comrade Bai Xueting is also like this in Gaotang Township. He took advantage of the public identity of the township chief to arrest the Zhuangding of the land-rich faction with great fanfare, and he was unwilling to go to buy Zhuangding on behalf of Ding; For the strong men sent by the poor, first let people go through the wind, and then send out armed forces to arrest them, and if they can't catch people, and they can't afford to buy them, even if it's over. This is called "dark release and bright grasping"; The money distributed by the county to Gaotang Township can be pushed and delayed, delayed as soon as it can be delayed, arrears every year, and finally it will not be settled. In this way, the burden of the peasants was transferred to the rich landlords and protected the interests of the masses.

Approaching liberation, the enemy blockaded the Wei River crossing and strictly checked the passers-by in an attempt to cut off the links between our underground party and northern Shaanxi. In order to ensure traffic safety, our underground party broke through the enemy's blockade and completed its liaison tasks, and did everything possible to secure key ferry ports through various connections.

The ferry port of Hongshan Village, where Shi Meng and Dali traveled, was controlled by the Hucun branch by using Ma Zhitu, the head of Huazhi Township, Dali County, which had a united front relationship with our party, and Ma Long, the township team. In February 1949, Comrade Guo Mingding escorted by Shi De, as well as comrades sent by the Ichino Liaison Department to the enemy area, all crossed through this ferry; He also took Comrade Wang Xinqi from southern Weihe and sent him to northern Shaanxi to study. After crossing the river, the comrades sent to study in northern Shaanxi gathered in Qian'er Town, led by Comrade Shi De (including comrades from Guanshan Middle School, Gushi Middle School, Weinan, and Huayin), and arrived safely at the cadre school of the Guanzhong Prefectural Party Committee (that is, the Provincial Work Committee) at the end of March.

The ferry port of Sanchang Village in Chishui is in the hands of the Sanchang Village Branch; Comrade Zhang Zhiqiang, secretary of the branch, whose public identity is that of the chief of security, and the public identity of Comrade Han Zhaohan, an underground party member, is attached to the security team; they took advantage of their positions to open identity cards for underground party member Wang Jianhua and Comrade Zhang Renmin of the Provincial Work Committee to escort them across the river.

Sanchang Village Ferry Port from Huazhou Rong Media

In March 1949, the Sanchang Village Branch accepted the task of escorting Wang Pingfan and several other leading comrades to study at the Northern Shaanxi Provincial Work Committee; at that time, a company of the Kuomintang troops was stationed in Dazhengtaitai Village near the ferry port, and there was a squad stationed in the Longwangmiao Temple in Hexi in Sanchang Village, and in the middle there were local national militias to strictly guard the river defense. Comrades Zhang Zhiqiang and Han Zhaohan, in their public capacity, approached the shipowner Zhan Siyi, saying that tonight I have a few friends who want to go to northern Shaanxi to sell big cigarettes, let the two wooden sweats (tools that the cart carries with the cattle) be connected together as a boat to cross, and said that they will come back and send him some big cigarettes to eat. Zhan Siyi is a big smoker, and when he heard that BaoChang sent people across the river to sell big cigarettes, his heart itched, he believed it and promised with his mouth. Late that night, he was sent across the river with wooden sweat. When the enemy discovered the returning Kongmu Khan, five comrades, including Wang Pingfan, Wang Runting, Yuan Jian, Shi Pingzhi, and Lü Lide, had left safely.
