Many of our understanding of the role of computers mostly stops at the various software installed on them, such as QQ, WeChat, Storm Video, Tencent Video, iQiyi, Youku, Internet Explorer, Sogou Browser, 360 Extreme Browser, 360 Antivirus, Tencent Computer Manager, Kuaibo, Microsoft Office, WPS, etc.; There are also various games large and small, such as Plants vs. Zombies OL, Red Alert 2, Resident Evil 8, Grand Theft Auto 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, etc. However, when we look for causes and solutions on the Internet when there is a computer problem, we will find some unfamiliar computers that come with their own operating processes (to be precise, the operating system comes with them), which makes us have to wonder: Is our understanding of computers only on the surface?
As loyal users of computers, our shallow understanding does make the computers we use a little chilling, it treats us as masters, we treat it as outsiders. In order not to let it chill, we need to calm down in our busy time to understand more about its interior, even if it is a little, it is a warmth for it and let it better serve us. So what are the non-software and game features we often see? Here's a quick summary.
1. Run component
Running is a necessary part of Windows and can be simply understood as a component that an application calls quickly. From the Run window, you can invoke any application in Windows (such as Registry Editor, Policy Group Editor, etc.) or even DOS commands.
The Run window has two ways to start:
(1) Keyboard "win" + "R" keys;
(2) Right-click the "Start" icon in the lower left corner of the desktop and select "Run" in the pop-up menu.
2. Command Prompt
Command Prompt is a 32-bit command line program on the window operating platform, abbreviated as "CMD". It allows users to control the computer by entering commands without using a mouse to achieve operations such as opening folders, listing folder contents, copying files, deleting files, etc. The command prompt allows users to manage their computers more efficiently without having to rely on the operation of a graphical interface.
It is worth mentioning that the interface of Command Prompt (CMD) is very similar to the DOS system on the computer in the past, but the two are completely different properties. CMD is a 32-bit program running on the Windows system, and the DOS system is an operating system with the same name as the Window system, which is a 16-bit operating system widely used on computers before the emergence of the Window system (the current Window system is 32-bit or 64-bit), so the two cannot be confused.
The Command Prompt window can be launched in several ways, the most common being:
(1) Enter "cmd" (both case or capital) in the input box of the "Run" window and press the "Enter" button of the keyboard to start;
(2) Click the "Start" icon in the lower left corner of the desktop, scroll down the left column in the pop-up menu and expand the "Windows System" folder, you can see "Command Prompt" inside, click. To open with administrative privileges, right-click Command Prompt, and then select Run as administrator.
3. Control Panel (i.e. Windows Settings)
The control panel is part of the graphical user interface of the Windows system and can be accessed through the start menu. It allows users to view and change basic system settings such as adding/removing software, controlling user accounts, and changing accessibility options.
In Windows 10 and later, Control Panel features will be gradually migrated to the modernized Settings, and Windows will deprecate Control Panel.
How Windows Settings starts:
Click the "Start" icon in the lower left corner of the desktop, and click the "Settings" above "Power" to turn it on.
4. Tools or accessories
Attachments are concentrated in the "Windows Accessories" folder in the "Start" menu, including Paint, Notepad, Snipping Tools, WordPad, games (cards, minesweepers, etc., but this is not available in the latest Windows systems).
Tools are concentrated under the Windows Administrative Tools folder in the Start menu, including Windows Memory Diagnostics, Local Security Policy, Disk Cleanup, Print Management, Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security, Recovery Drives, Computer Management, Defragmentation and Optimization Drives, System Configuration, and System Information.
5. Task Manager
Windows Task Manager provides information about your computer's performance and displays detailed information about the programs and processes running on your computer; If you are connected to a network, you can also view network status and quickly understand how the network is working. Its user interface provides six menu items such as files, options, view, window, shutdown, help, etc., and there are five tabs such as applications, processes, performance, networking, users, etc., and the bottom of the window is the status bar, from which you can view the number of processes of the current system, CPU usage ratio, changed memory<, capacity and other data, the system automatically updates the data every two seconds by default, or you can click the "View → update speed" menu to reset. >
The most common ways to start Task Manager:
(1) Press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" at the same time, and click "Task Manager" in the interface that appears;
(2) Under the "Windows System" folder under the "Start" menu, find and click "Task Manager".
6. Device Manager
Device Manager is a management tool that you can use to manage devices on your computer. You can use Device Manager to view and change device properties, update device drivers, configure device settings, and uninstall devices. Device Manager provides a graphical view of the hardware installed on your computer. All devices communicate with Windows through a piece of software called a device driver.
Use Device Manager to install and update drivers for hardware devices, modify hardware settings for those devices, and troubleshoot problems.
Device Manager has many ways to start, the quickest of which are two:
(1) Right-click "This Computer", click "Manage" in the pop-up menu, find and click "Device Manager" in the "System Tools" drop-down menu in the pop-up window;
(2) "Win" + "R" calls up the "Run" window, enter "devmgmt.msc", press the "Enter" key on the keyboard and the "Device Manager" window will pop up.
