After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1945, the CPC Central Committee immediately made the decision to enter the northeast to establish a base area in accordance with the changes in the situation, and immediately launched arduous development and construction. In 1948, the central government decided to import tractors from the Soviet Union to cultivate the land in the Northern Wasteland, and held a tractor driver training course in Heilongjiang Bei'an Nongken, and 18-year-old Liang Jun broke through many obstacles to be the first to sign up, and she became the only woman among more than 70 trainees at that time. Liang Jun told the instructor that if a Soviet girl can do it, she can do it.

Liang Jun was born in 1930 in a poor family in Mingshui County, Heilongjiang Province, originally named "Liang Baozhen", and later changed her name to Liang Jun, which she said meant that she had to work and fight like a soldier and become a useful person to society. After studying in the icy northern wilderness for more than two months, Liang Jun and her classmates drove back three Soviet-style Naqi tractors. Since then, in the vast wilderness of the Northern Wilderness, Liang Jun began to realize his dream of pioneering for the motherland.

Liang Jun: There was a tractor driving in front, and a group of people in the back were watching, and this big girl was also firing a plow. I feel that I am not only liberated to turn over, but also able to grasp the power of modern machinery.
After using tractors to clear the land, productivity was greatly improved, and that year, Liang Jun's grain yield reached the second largest in the entire northeast region. On December 10, 1949, Liang Jun, as China's first female tractor driver, participated in the Asian Women's Congress held in Beijing, and the next day, the newspaper published Liang Jun's story, and her deeds spread all over the country at once. In 1950, Liang Jun, as a model worker, was received by Chairman Mao Zedong in Beijing.

Liang Jun: In 1950, I went to Beijing to hold a labor model meeting, which was a collective representative, and I participated in the Beijing labor model meeting in the name of a female tractor captain, so I felt extremely honored and very happy.
In June 1950, the first women's tractor team in New China named after Liang Jun was established, and since then, the women's tractor team led by Liang Jun has been galloping in the wilderness of the Northern Wilderness. In November 1959, when the first batch of Dongfanghong-54 domestic tractors arrived in Heilongjiang, Liang Jun could not help but jump up and excitedly circle around.

Liang Jun: I'm more proud than anything. In the past, I opened the "United Nations", which was more advanced in any country, but people were advanced after all, so at that time in 1959 (China's first tractor) "Dongfang Hong" came out, I was more proud than anything, happier than anything.
