Foreign media: Former Afghan Acting Prime Minister AhmedZai died at the age of 78

India's AsiaNews International News Agency (ANI) reported on October 17 that former Afghan Acting Prime Minister Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai has died at the age of 78, according to the Afghan Pajewak News Agency.

According to reports, Ahmedzai served as Afghanistan's minister of interior, construction and education, served as acting prime minister of Afghanistan from 1995 to 1996, left Afghanistan after the Taliban took over, and went into exile in Istanbul and London. After the fall of the Taliban in 2001, Ahmedzai returned to Afghanistan to stand as an independent candidate in the 2004 Afghan presidential elections.
