At the same time, the Consulate General of Fiji in Shanghai and the Fiji Tourism Board also held a Fiji Tourism Photo Exhibition to promote Fiji's tourism resources to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The event was guided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways of the Republic of Fiji, the Ministry of Fisheries and Forestry of the Republic of Fiji, the Embassy of the Republic of Fiji in China, the Fiji Tourism Authority, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Nansha District Committee, the Nansha District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, and jointly sponsored by the Consulate General of the Republic of Fiji in Shanghai and Guangzhou Waterbird World Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd.
Rayalu, Minister of Agriculture and Waterways of the Republic of Fiji, said
The establishment of the Fiji Cultural Tourism Art Exchange Center provides an unprecedented opportunity for Fiji and China to carry out mutually beneficial cooperation through superior resources. It is hoped that the Fiji Cultural Tourism Art Exchange Center can build a platform for private and public sector exchanges between China and Fiji, and serve as an invisible bridge between the two countries, so that the true love and friendship between the two peoples can cross mountains and seas and connect hands with each other.
It is understood that Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City have a deep foundation for friendly exchanges with Fiji, and in 2014 and 2015 respectively, they formed a sister province and city with Fijian Suva City and an international friendly cooperation and exchange city. Relying on the cooperation foundation of provinces and municipalities, Nansha District actively carries out exchanges and cooperation with Fiji, and the official opening of the Fiji Cultural Tourism Art Exchange Center is a pragmatic measure to help Nansha build a new platform for international exchanges, marking a new starting point for exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
Next, more exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, commerce and trade will be carried out through the Fiji Cultural Tourism and Art Exchange Center, so as to showcase the unique tropical tourism resources of the South Pacific island countries to the people of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and then promote various forms of exchanges and cooperation between the Nansha region and Fiji and the South Pacific island countries in fisheries and agriculture.
