Recently, some Chengdu citizens found human-faced spiders in Chengdu! So, what does a human-faced spider look like, and is it poisonous?
Ms. Li Xiaorong, a native of Chengdu, is a photography enthusiast. On April 23, Ms. Li couldn't help but stop to photograph the flowers as she passed through Xinfan Town, Xindu District, Chengdu. When the camera was aimed at the flower core, Ms. Li found a spider parked on it, and the spider had a face pattern on it, "I used the lens to zoom in and take a close shot, and I saw the face clearly, which was a bit infiltrative." Ms. Li recalled that there were about 10 such human-faced spiders around.

After returning home, Ms. Li sent the picture to Zhao Li, director of the Huaxi Insect Museum, hoping to find out what kind of spider it was.
Zhao Li introduced that this spider is a three-tussock Yin spider, generally 4-6 mm in length, with a changeable body color, green, white and yellow. It is a non-knotted nomadic spider of the crab family and is widely distributed. It generally lurks on the flowers to prey on a variety of small insects that imitate flowers.
"The human-faced spider is not a taxonomic concept. In fact, the so-called human-faced spider is that the pattern on the spider is a bit like a human face, and many kinds of spiders have similar patterns. Zhao Li introduced, "Among the human-faced spiders found by netizens around the world, the Sandu Yin's spider is the easiest to see, and can occasionally be seen in the summer flower beds in the Chengdu area."
