NBA announces All-Rookie Team: Banqueiro leads with unanimous votes, and the Rockets enter the second team

The NBA announces the 2022-23 All-Rookie Team:

Magic power forward Paul Bankero, Jazz center Walker Kessler, Thunder forward Jaylen Williams, Pacers guard Benedict Marcelin and Kings winger Keegan Murray were named to the All-Rookie First Team.

Pistons guard Jayden Ivey, center Jaylen Durham, Spurs power forward Jeremy Sohan and Rockets power forwards Jabari Smith and Tarry Eason were named to the All-Rookie Second Team.

Banqueiro, the Class of 2022, previously won Rookie of the Year with all 100 first votes, and Banqueiro averaged 20 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game this season.

Jaylen Williams and Kessler were also named to the Rookie of the Year 3, with the former averaging 14.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.4 steals and shooting 52.1 percent from the field. Jevie received 99 first votes. Kessler is the No. 22 pick, averaging 9.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.3 blocks in 23 minutes per game, and his ability to protect the basket and finish and front board is already comparable to that of a top center.

Kessler received 95 first votes. Marceline is the No. 6 pick and is averaging 16.7 points per game this season with 71 first votes. Murray was selected by the Kings with the 4th overall pick and averaged 12.2 points per game while shooting 41 percent from three-point range, and he received 88 first votes.

Second team: Ive is the No. 5 pick, averaging 16.3 points and 5.2 assists per game. Durham was the No. 13 pick and averaged 9.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and 64.8 percent shooting from the field. Sohan was the No. 9 pick selected by the Spurs, and Jabari Smith was a scout, averaging 12.8 points and 7.2 rebounds while shooting 40.8 percent from the field. Ethan was the No. 17 pick and averaged 9.3 points, six rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
