The reporter learned from the Forestry Bureau of Wuhai City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on the 23rd that after more than 10 years of efforts, good results have been achieved in the prevention and control of rare plants and red-edged tianniu insect pests.

In 2006, conservators found that the four-in-one trees in Wuhai City were damaged by the larvae of the red-edged Tianniu, and many of the branches of the four-fold trees were hollowed out, resulting in weak growth, brokenness, and death, and the survival of the community was threatened. Since 2007, the staff of Wuhai Forestry Bureau, in collaboration with experts from the autonomous region, has explored a set of accurate insect control methods through the analysis of the growth characteristics of the red-edged tianniu, that is, once a concentrated spray at the beginning of the feathering of the tianniu in mid-May every year, and then sprayed once every 15 days or so, so as to kill the adult insects before the tail and spawning, and block the breeding chain of the red-edged tianniu.

Tian Jing, deputy director of the Wuhai Forestry Bureau, told reporters that after years of continuous prevention and control, insect pests have been effectively controlled in recent years. During the feathering period, adult red-edged celestial cattle have rarely been seen in the core area of the tetralogy.

Originating from the ancient Mediterranean flora 140 million years ago, tetragrammaton is one of the ancient remnant plants and has been identified as a national second-level protected plant by China. The growth area of tetragram is very small in the world, mainly distributed in the junction of Inner Mongolia and Ningxia in China, with a core area of about 0.49 million hectares, located on the terrace between Table Mountain and Gander Mountain in Wuhai City.
