Guishan Mountain is located in the mirror of Mengzhuang Town, Shizhong District, Zaozhuang City, with an altitude of 331 meters, and is named because its mountain shape resembles a fuxing female turtle. The turtle head looks forward to the seven stars of the Big Dipper, exploring the artificial Ping Lake with blue waves - The Zhoucun Reservoir, the second largest reservoir in Zaozhuang City, the forest on the mountain is lush and misty; the reflection of the lake under the mountain is reflected, and the shisha is everywhere.
Legend has it that in ancient times, Guishan was originally the East Sea Immortal Island, which was a fortress that entered the East Sea from the west coast on land, and the Dragon King of the East Sea sent Gui Cheng Xiang town to guard this island. There is a snake fairy on the south shore of Xiandao, who often invades Xiandao in order to compete for territory. The turtle was greatly annoyed by this and often dueled with the snake fairy on the shore. One day, while the turtle and snake were fighting, suddenly two condors descended from the sky to try to mediate for them. The turtle and the snake fairy saw that the condor was fierce, and the turtle turned and fled to the fairy island, and the snake fairy swam east with his head held high. Due to frequent fights with snake fairies, Gui Cheng neglected the administration of the island, causing the ripples of the sea to erupt through the island, and the flood was endless. The Dragon King of the East Sea was furious and retreated three hundred miles from the waters on the west coast of the East China Sea, elevated the Island of Immortals to land, and degraded the turtle to a turtle and was not allowed to enter the sea. The turtle is lying on the island, looking up at the seven stars of the Big Dipper, and over time it will merge with the fairy island and become a turtle mountain, and its body cavity and blood vessels will become caves, so the turtle cave caves are connected, and it is expected that the dragon cave and the dripping cave will be expected. The snake god was also reprimanded by the Heavenly Emperor, who punished him for not being allowed to crawl, and lived on the south side of the Immortal Island, which later transformed into a snake mountain. The Dragon King of the East Sea sent nine dragon sons to Xiandao to deal with the flood, and he sent nine women to help. Because the cave at the top of the island is wide and fierce, it has been cured for a long time. In desperation, the turtle beggar, in order to atone for his sins, asked to cut off his tail to block the sea eye, and the nine women held a lotus flower in one hand and a sword in the other, cutting off the turtle's tail to block the hole, and the flood stopped. The nine dragons, remembering that the turtle and the turtle were sacrificing their lives to save each other, stayed by the eye of the sea to accompany the turtle and the nine women also accompanied the dragon, and used the lotus flower to shield the turtle from the wind and rain. Therefore, there are nine dragon stones and wind tail stones on the top of the mountain, and there are nine lotus flowers in the north of the mountain.
In fact, Guishan belongs to the Yimeng Mountains, which is a gull-shaped group in the southeast of the Taiyi Mountains, and its strata are Cambrian shale and thick layers and giant thick layers of limestone. Its substrate is composed of archean metamorphic rocks 2.5 billion years ago, and then uplifted into land through strong folds, and after nearly 2 billion years of external erosion, forming a Precambrian continental deposit. Subsequently, the plot fell sharply into a vast sea, forming the Limestone of the Lower Cambrian Cinnabar Cave Formation; about 600 million years ago, it rose to shallow sea, forming the Lower Cambrian Mantou Formation shale sandwich limestone and sandy limestone, and then fell into the deep sea, depositing the Middle Cambrian Zhangxia Formation limestone that now constitutes the cliff at the top of the Gushan Mountain in the Lunan region; about 440 million years ago, north China rose to land, suffered long-term erosion, and then land and sea. From 280 million years ago, the Guishan area has always been land, subjected to weathering and erosion, due to many geological structures and the evolution of the ancient geographical environment of the vicissitudes of the mulberry field, the unique style of the Guishan area has been formed, with strange peaks, strange stones, caves, and mountain springs everywhere, which is a famous mountain with both gods and shapes unique to the Lunan area.
The rugged terrain and beautiful scenery of Guishan Mountain not only attract ancient and modern literati and scholars, but also a place where soldiers must compete. In the Tang Dynasty, there was a Miao Jiazhuang at the foot of Guishan Mountain, and his only daughter was named Miao Fengying, who looked like a flower and jade, and his father gave his daughter Xu to Luo Cheng, who was a high official in the capital. After Luo led his troops to attack Yizhou and won the victory, he returned to Miaojiazhuang to visit his father-in-law, and listened to the Miao people's report that Cao Erhu, the bandit leader of Cao Jiazhuang, saw Miao Fengying's beauty and threatened to go to Miao Mansion within three days to shoot relatives. Luo Sui dressed as a woman, and when Cao Erhu robbed the ancestral chapel, Luo killed Cao Erhu and mobilized a large army to surround Cao Jiazhuang and pursue and kill Cao Erhu's bandits. In order to prevent Cao Erhu's men from retaliating, a turtle cottage was built on Guishan Mountain, and the Miao family father and daughter were invited up the mountain and sent troops to guard it, and the local people defected to Guishan in order to escape the harassment of bandits, and gradually formed villages. According to legend, there were more than 100 families living in the mountain at that time, there was a large area of land for farming, "there was a spring on it, and the drought did not dry up" (Yixian Zhi), and there was a market. Since then, GuishanZhai has become a place where the king of the village has trained troops and practiced boxing and martial arts. Above the surrounding cliffs, there are more than 1,800 flagpole holes, and you can imagine the battle scenes of the flags on the mountain, the noise of war drums, the shadow of swords and lights, and the sound of killing. During the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, Li Rulin and others led the people to "save the four outsides", and with Liu Shuangyin and other troops thousands of people revolted, they fought in Xiji, Matou, Lianghecha, Fengjiazhuang, Liujiazhuang, Drinking Maxuehe, Wenwangyu, tangyinwei, and won consecutive battles. The rebels fought against the Qing army on Guishan Mountain for several years, and were later destroyed by the monk Greenqin. During the years of the Republic of China, Sun Meiyao planned the Great Robbery of the Republic of China that shocked China and foreign countries, abducted foreigners in Baoligu, and sent troops to guard the key road in and out of Guishan Mountain, and foreigners could not approach Baoyugu.
Guishan has always been a treasure trove of self-cultivation. There is an ancient temple on the mountain, formerly known as "Purple Cloud Temple", built in the Ming and Qing dynasties, the temple in front of the stone stele is lined up, the temple became one of the most famous Taoist temples at that time, attracting many pilgrims to burn incense to worship the Buddha, incense has been very strong. "March 3rd, Canglangyuan, February 19 climbing Turtle Mountain", so far every February 19th Guishan Temple Fair, pilgrims gathered, incense mist burning, unprecedented grandeur. During the Qing Jiaqing period, Wang Dangao, a wuju man in TengXian County, committed a major murder case because of his revenge on his father, so he fled with his mother to the foot of Guishan Mountain, where he saw that Guishan Mountain was steep and the air was fresh, so he entered the Road as a soldier. He was highly skilled in martial arts, collected more than a hundred disciples, and then sat on the southwest hillside, and the corpse turned into a mummy, which is rare in East China, and the reason for the formation of mummies has always been a mystery of experts in geology and biology.
Since 2002, the local government has invested in the construction of 999 steps to the top of the mountain, with a total length of 409 meters, called "thousand steps cloud ladder", there is a saying of "flat steps and green clouds, step by step". On the mountain, the Purple Cloud Temple, the Mummy Tomb, the Bagua Garden, the Nine Dragon Stone, the Xiuxian Pavilion, the Wanghai Pavilion, the Langu Pavilion were excavated, the Drip Cave, the Wanglong Cave, the Tongtian Cave, the First Line of Heaven... were excavated, and a deer garden, a monkey garden, a rare bird garden were newly built, and there were the ruins of the Old Longtan Shang Zhou, the ruins of the Ancient Tombs of the Han Dynasty, the Xiangju of Guishan Mountain, the artificial Pinghu Lake - Zhoucun Reservoir, the Water Amusement Park, the Ten Thousand Mu Peach Garden, and the Ten Mile Green Corridor under the mountain. Approaching the Turtle Mountain, or climbing the steps, or wandering in the forest, or touching the nostalgia, or ascending to the far horizon, or exploring the caves, or talking in the garden... , the lake and the mountains, moving the scenery, pleasing to the eye, the former call, the latter should, "put the wine in the wind, its joyful yangyang."
The mountain is not high, there are immortals are named; the scenery is not far away, and the water is the spirit. Guishan is famous for its unique geological and cultural landscapes of wonders, strangeness, spirits, shows and gods, and has become the best place for people to travel, sightseeing and leisure vacations. In January 2004, it was named "Provincial Geopark" by the Department of Land and Resources of Shandong Province, and in January 2006, it was named "National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site" by the National Tourism Administration.
