The Butterfly Season of Yangmingshan is coming, and this year, with the theme of "Butterfly Dance Grass Mountain", the butterfly viewing period began yesterday and ended on June 19. If you want to enjoy the butterflies flying in the mountains, the main peak and south peak of Datun Mountain are the best butterfly viewing areas, and when walking on the trail, butterflies fly around the side.

According to the statistics of the butterfly resource survey over the years, Yangmingshan National Park has recorded 180 species of butterflies in 5 families so far, accounting for 43% of the butterfly species in Taiwan. In early summer every year, the honey source plants such as Nanguo Thistle, Wild Angelica, and Shimada's Zelan bloom, attracting more than ten species of spotted butterflies to gather and suck honey and dance, of which the number of large silk spotted butterflies (green spotted butterflies) and Si's silk spotted butterflies (small green spotted butterflies) peak from May to June every year, forming a beautiful scenery of colorful butterflies flying.
During the butterfly season, there is an "Indoor Butterfly Special Exhibition" in the Visitor Center and the Datun Visitor Service Station, the visitor center is mainly based on indoor static display, and a butterfly live display area and a butterfly microscopy observation area are set up, and a commentator is arranged to guide the tour on the spot. Yangmingshan National Park Management Office reminds the public that DatunShan Lane is one of the important butterfly viewing routes in the park, in order to maintain the habitat ecology of animals and plants and provide a safe butterfly viewing environment for tourists, from now until June 19, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every day, except for vehicles performing official duties, all kinds of vehicles (including bicycles) are prohibited from entering, please pay attention to and cooperate with passers-by and tourists during the event.

Tourists who go up the mountain to enjoy the butterflies can take advantage of public transportation vehicles to transfer to the Red 5 bus from Jiantan Station of the MRT, or take the 260, 1717 and other buses to Taipei Railway Station, or change to the small 8 bus at Shipai Station, or transfer to the small 9 and 230 buses to The Yangmingshan Bus Terminal at Beitou Station, and then transfer to the 108 bus to Erziping Station. Due to the changeable climate in the mountainous areas, it is best for people to carry rain gear when going up the mountain to enjoy butterflies, do not climb the flowers and trees and disturb the butterflies when viewing the butterflies, and remember to take the garbage down the mountain.
