Amberglis Island - is undoubtedly one of the top destinations for Caribbean islands. This 1-mile-wide, 25-mile-long tropical paradise is world-famous for its coral reef dive sites, white sand beaches, mangrove swamp interiors, and breathtaking scenery. The main town of the island is known as San Pedro, which is home to a large population from mainland Belize and around the world. Elsewhere on Amberglis Island are home to Mayan hamlets and various resorts scattered along the coastline. You won't find many cars on the island as the main means of transport here are golf carts and bicycles. Tourists can also reach the island in a number of ways – you can catch a flight from Belize City or take a ferry from different places like Corozal Town (Belize) and Chetumal (Mexico).

Amberglis Island is first and foremost a scuba diving destination. After all, that's what makes this tropical paradise so famous. There are plenty of places to dive on the island, but the best ones are a few miles from the white sand beach – the Blue Cave and the Great Barrier Reef in Central America. You'll find plenty of places on the island where you can rent gear and even take scuba diving courses – all with NAUII and PADI certification. Night diving is also particularly popular here.

Explore the interior of the island:

Why not rent a small golf cart and take a ride around the island? Amberglyth Island offers more than just beautiful beaches and scuba diving spots. Its interior is made up of various dirt roads that lead to a variety of breathtaking places. Mangrove swamps and amazing wildlife can be seen. There is also a place on the island that is also considered the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. A beautiful place to see.

Do some fishing:

Whether you're fishing for enjoyment and relaxation, or prefer a serious fishing sport, Amberglis Island is an incredible fishing destination. Throughout the island, you'll find numerous fishing charter companies and places where you can rent and buy fishing gear. If you are an experienced fisherman and know how to steer a boat, you can also rent your own fishing boat. The island and its surroundings have long been popular spots for fly fishing and big game fishing.

Enjoy the nightlife:

You'll have plenty to do at Ambergris Caye, so why is the evening any different? There are a variety of nightclubs and bars open until the early hours of the morning, where you can watch live bands, dance and sing karaoke. Many of the restaurants are also open until late, and many of them have evening entertainment such as live bands, not to mention delicious local seafood delicacies.

Soak up the sun:

What's the point of visiting such a tropical island if you're not going to take some time to relax? Of course, there's plenty to do in Amberglys, but there's nothing wrong with heading to one of the breathtaking beaches and soaking up the sun on a lounge chair or beach hammock. Stand up, read a good book, and admire the stunning scenery that makes this island so internationally renowned.

When to go:

Amberglis Island is located in the western Caribbean Sea, so expect a tropical climate all year round. Hurricane season is the only unsuitable time to visit, so plan accordingly.
