author:Wan Ming Xiangrui

Tropical islands are the most popular holiday destinations in the world, whether it's Aruba in the Caribbean or Boracay and Phuket in Southeast Asia.

There are approximately 45,000 different tropical island destinations around the world. Most of them are located in regions such as Southeast Asia and the Caribbean, while others are located in more isolated places such as the Atlantic, Indian and central Pacific Oceans. These exotic places have a year-round summer climate, crystal clear waters, soft white sand beaches, and many are surrounded by spectacular coral reefs. Tourists visit these places to enjoy the beach, taste the local seafood delicacies and participate in various other activities. After all, that's what tropical life is all about. They are also the most memorable and romantic honeymoon destination ever.

Southeast Asian tropical islands

Southeast Asia includes countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and French Polynesia. This small collection of beautiful countries is home to thousands of tropical islands. In fact, there are many in the region, with more than 7,000 different people in the Philippines alone. Below I have listed 6 of the most incredible tropical paradises in Southeast Asia.

Known as one of the world's top island destinations

Bora Bora is known for its water villas and spectacular views

Bora Bora is a French Polynesian paradise, located in the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by incredible coral reefs and lagoons. Not only that, but the island is also home to Mount Ottermanu and Mount Paia, which are the remains of an ancient extinct volcano. The local economy is driven entirely by tourism, as evidenced by the fact that many luxury hotels and resorts are built on the main island and the smaller surrounding islands. There are currently 9,000 locals living here, most of them on the west coast. There are many attractions here, some of the most unique being exploring the place in a "fun car" as well as shark diving. This place is also famous for its overwater bungalows on stilts, the only downside to the island is that it is very expensive.

Things to do in Bora Bora

In addition to normal tropical island activities, there are many things that tourists can do here, such as relaxing on the beach, scuba diving, and snorkeling. One of the contributing factors to Bora Bora's popularity is if certain activities are offered that cannot be found elsewhere.

Check out the lagoon aquarium:

The local lagoon aquarium is one of the places that sets this place apart from most other tropical destinations and is often a highlight for many visitors here. At the lagoon aquarium, you will be able to see and swim with a variety of marine life such as tropical fish, sharks, dolphins, turtles, stingrays, etc. There is also a daily shark feeding exhibition. Take an island hopping tour:

Island circling is a phrase used to describe the activity of traveling around the island. Visitors to Bora Bora will have two options for getting around the island, by land or water. Water trips require the use of a local tour operator followed by a boat trip around the lagoon, while land trips allow you to rent a motorbike, car or bicycle. To make the most of your vacation, I recommend going around in circles on land and water.

Check out some of the ancient ruins:

On Bora Bora you will find many beautiful ancient ruins. They are easy to find, and you're sure to discover some as you explore around the island. The best way to get to know these sites is to take a guided tour, as any of these tour operators will take you around the individual sites while introducing you to each one.

Snorkeling from your bungalow:

Guests staying at one of the water bungalows can snorkel on their doorstep. Explore the crystal clear waters surrounding the bungalow and swim among beautiful schools of tropical fish such as blacktip reef sharks and parrotfish. If you don't have your own snorkeling gear, then the management can provide it for you.

When to go

Bora Bora, like most other islands in the tropics, mainly experiences two seasons, the rainy season and the dry season. The dry season, from May to October, is the most popular time to visit, so expect a lot of tourists during this period. The weather can get unusually hot, but not as hot as the rainy season, and this is the time when rainfall is minimal. The rainy season runs from November to April and is unusually hot, and visitors to the island during this period should experience plenty of rainfall and storms. Temperatures are also highest during this time, but for some travelers, the lower price cost and fewer tourists make it worth it.
