On April 18, at the 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as Shanghai International Auto Show), Dongfeng Company unveiled its latest technological achievements in the field of electrification and intelligence and 11 new models in Hall 7.2 with the theme of "Yue, Technology, Joy and Life". On the same day, at the press conference of Dongfeng Company, Dongfeng Fengshen launched the 1258 "e-Qi" plan, released a new electric series brand Eπ with technology and change as the connotation, and fully opened a new chapter in the transformation and development of electrification.
In recent years, Dongfeng has focused on promoting reform, innovation and transformation and upgrading, and the layout of platforms, commodities, key assemblies and core technology resources for the era of vehicle electrification, intelligence and connectivity has been basically completed. Dongfeng System has built three platforms: M TECH Architecture, Dongfeng Quantum Architecture and DSMA Energy-saving Architecture, launched the "Mach" power brand covering energy saving, hybrid and pure electric, and the "Dongfeng Hydrogen Boat" hydrogen power brand, independently controlling a number of core technologies that can significantly improve customer experience and significantly enhance competitiveness. On the solid foundation of scientific and technological innovation, Dongfeng has built a new energy brand pattern for passenger cars covering luxury, high-end, mainstream and small fields, providing a full range of products and services for different customers.
As the main force of Dongfeng's independent new energy transformation, Dongfeng Fengshen relies on the technical reserves and innovation of the whole new energy industry chain of Dongfeng Company, seizes the opportunity, takes advantage of the momentum, and releases the 1258 "e-Qi" plan for the strategic transformation of new energy. The company aims to achieve 100% electrification by 2024 and 500,000 units in 2025.
The "e-Start" plan includes 1 center, 2 paths, 5 supports, and 8 products.
"One center" is customer-centric. "Two paths" means that Dongfeng Fengshen will continue to invest in the two major fields of hybrid and pure electric to achieve a dual-line lead and provide the most comprehensive solution for new mainstream customers in multi-scenario travel. "5 major supports", including two core technical supports in the field of hybrid - efficient and safe DSMA architecture and the latest upgraded third-generation Mach MHD hybrid system. The two core technical supports in the field of pure electricity - the new Mach E power and Dongfeng quantum architecture. The fifth major support is leading forward-looking intelligent technology, including SOA electronic and electrical architecture, better use intelligent driving, and intelligent cockpit. The five core technical supports, as the latest achievements of Dongfeng's technological leap, will be fully applied to Dongfeng Fengshen new energy models. "8 products" means that Dongfeng Fengshen will launch at least 2 new energy models every year from 2024 onwards, and launch at least 8 products within three years to achieve full coverage of all categories and full-size new energy products.
At this motor show, the Dongfeng Fengshen pure electric wide-body SUV S01 and the Haohan PHEV model equipped with the third-generation Mach MHD hybrid system made their debut. Haohan PHEV is positioned as "the future C-class new energy SUV" and will become the new technological favorite of young consumers.
At this press conference, a new logo of the eπ brand was also launched, which was inherited and innovated on the basis of the Dongfeng Shuangfeiyan logo. The two "T" shapes represent Technology and Transformation respectively, symbolizing "technology" and "change". The first concept car, the Eπ2023, was also officially unveiled.
