Scientists have discovered that 80 million years ago, a new carnivorous dinosaur called it something that caused fear

The first part of the name of this dinosaur, which lived in Patagonia 80 million years ago, is translated from the indigenous language of the Mapuche Indians and means "to cause fear", and the second part contains the Latin letter "aliocranianus", meaning "another skull".

In a paper in the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology, paleontologists classified the new species in the family Abelidae after analyzing well-preserved skulls.

The remains of the dinosaur indicate that it was up to five meters long, had very sharp teeth, long claws, and probably had more developed hearing than other Abelosaurus. In addition, its skull was short and the bones were rough, so its head had a bulge, like some reptiles (such as iguanas) today. The construction of its skull suggests that it is better than most other gastropods, similar to modern crocodiles. Llukalkan differs from its peers in that it has a small posterior inflatable sinus in the middle ear area.

Llukalkan lived during the same period as another species, the Abbelidold Exxon Road Hunting Dragon, and inhabited the same small area, but was smaller in size. Abelisaurus resembling a Tyrannosaurus rex, with powerful hind limbs, short forelimbs, and unusually short skulls, uneven bumps. The remains of Llukalkan are found only 700 meters away from the remains of the Dragon Hunt.
