Environmental protection projects accused of large-scale pollution of nature reserves, Ant Forest responded

On April 23, the public account "Nine Dead and Souls" published an article "Environmental Protection, Business and Lies" saying that the Ant Forest environmental protection project is suspected of large-scale pollution of nature reserves, and the article pointed out that a large amount of green plastic film has appeared in the Yushu Jiatang grassland in Qinghai, which is being broken up, and the polluted area is larger than the area of 634 standard basketball courts. In this regard, @蚂蚁森林 issued a response: After confirmation by the Shanshui Nature Conservation Center and on-site investigation, the non-woven plot pointed out in the article does not belong to the "Ant Forest Jiatang Protected Area" project plot and has nothing to do with the Ant Forest Public Welfare Project. After on-site investigation, the "Ant Forest Jiatang Reserve" located in Zhenqin Village No. 2 did not find non-woven cover, and there was no pollution as pointed out in the article.

Ant Forest said that it strongly opposes the improper use of non-woven fabric covering to harm the environment and ecology, and also calls for a more scientific and green way to solve the problem of planting grass and wind. Oversight from all sectors of society is welcome, but equally strongly opposes the publication of false information without verification.

According to reports, the Jiatang grassland is located in the southern foothills of Yushu Bayan Kara, with a vast area. The "Ant Forest Jiatang Reserve", jointly built by Ant Forest and Shanshui Nature Conservation Center, is located in Zhenqin Village, Shenduo County, and is part of the Jiatang grassland, covering an area of about 160 square kilometers. It mainly carries out wildlife protection monitoring, anti-poaching, ecological protection and other protection projects.
