Cephalocereus senilis is a species of cactus native to Hidalgo and Veracruz in central Mexico.

Cephalocereus senilis is a tall columnar species whose stem clusters can grow up to 5–15 m tall; Individual stems are usually unbranched and cannot adequately bear the weight of the side branches. The most notable feature is the long fluffy white hair, reminiscent of an old man with unkempt hair. The coat on the young cactus is a particularly striking silver-white color. As the plant ages, the stem begins to lose its mulch. The flowers are red, yellow, or white, but the plant may not bloom until 10-20 years old.

Cephalocereus senilis is a very popular cultivated cactus, grown for its wool-like appearance. It prefers a well-drained soil mixture (more so than many other cacti) and plenty of sunlight, which promotes hair growth.
