Recently, the "2021 Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts Graduate Students Mid-term Screening Report Exhibition" was launched at the Art Museum of guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and will last until May 16.
According to reports, the mid-term screening report exhibition for graduate students is a phased summary of the study and research of each graduate student at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, reflecting the way and state of graduate students' learning and creation in a richer and three-dimensional way, encouraging them to trial and error and innovation, which can be described as a meaningful "warm-up game". The works and texts in this exhibition show the attention of guangmei research students to social reality and multiculturalism, and the exploration and practice of cutting-edge issues in today's disciplines, which will prompt graduate students to better carry out graduation creations, and also pay tribute to the hard guidance and dedication of all tutors.
In order to deepen the reform of postgraduate education and comprehensively improve the quality of postgraduate training, since 2015, the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts has carried out a series of reforms and innovations in the mid-term screening and assessment of postgraduate students, including holding a university-wide special lecture on the mid-term screening training of postgraduate students, an exhibition of mid-term screening works for graduate students, requiring graduate students participating in the mid-term screening to submit the "Mid-term Screening Report Book" and displaying it, requiring the provision of the mid-term screening report book of the outstanding graduate students in previous years for the reference and study of students, and further improving the mid-term screening and diversion mechanism.

Shen Kang, director of the Graduate School Division, said that although the effect of the reform and innovation of the medium-term screening of graduate students cannot be achieved immediately and overnight, after several years of exploration and practice, it has shown a good trend.
The medium-term screening will increase the intensity of assessment and elimination, effectively improve the learning enthusiasm of graduate students, excellent graduate students will strive to go further, and laggards will also have the motivation to work hard in comparison, and ultimately promote the overall learning trend of graduate students.
The mid-term screening exhibition is a good opportunity for the school to showcase professional creation/design and accumulate experience for graduate students, so that graduate students can be more comfortable in graduation creation and design in the third academic year. At the annual conference of degree and graduate education of the eight major academies of fine arts in China, the reform and innovation measures of the mid-term screening and assessment of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts left a deep impression on other sister universities.
