VMware WorkStation Virtual Machine Installation Rocky 8.5 Linux System and Ubuntu-20.04.3 Installation Process
Preparation tools: 1. VMware WorkStation virtual machine.
2. Rocky 8.5 Linux system image.
1. Open the installed VM VM - select New VM - Select Typical Installation.
2.Select Install OS Later.
3. Select the appropriate system operating system version.
4. Name the name and select the virtual machine storage location as needed (it is recommended to choose a disk letter other than the C drive)
5.Change or default the disk as needed and place the virtual machine files under one file.
6.Click Edit Virtual Machine to configure the hardware of the virtual machine and load the system image file to the virtual machine.
7Click to start the virtual machine, enter the system installation interface, and select the first item for system installation.
8.Select the installation language.
9. On this page, select the keyboard language, region and time zone, software selection, set administrator password and create a new normal user, set the host name and network, and set the disk partition.
10Select I want to partition - set reasonable disk space.
11 Select Format Current Disk.
12Set the host name
13Select Start Installation and wait for the system installation to complete.
14. Select Restart after the installation is complete
15 Click to agree to the agreement.
16Complete the system configuration and enter the operating system interface.
VMware WorkStation Virtual Machine Installation Ubuntu-20.04.3 Installation Process
Preparation tools: 1. VMware WorkStation virtual machine.
2. Ubuntu-20.04.3 Linux system image.
1.Select New Virtual Machine - Select Typical Installation
2.Select Install later to install the operating system.
3Select the corresponding operating system and version
4. Name the name and select the virtual machine storage location as needed (it is recommended to choose a disk letter other than the C drive)
5Change or default disk as needed and store the virtual machine files under one file.
6Click Edit Virtual Machine to configure the hardware of the virtual machine and load the system image file to the virtual machine.
7. Click to turn on the VM to enter the operating system transfer interface.
8. Select the language, the default is English, press enter
9 This interface selects the second option: continue without updating
10 Default DONE directly enters the next step
11. This interface configures the network card (make it automatic, if it doesn't work, choose one at random)
12 hard disk needs to be set, the above is the default all, the following is custom After pressing the spacebar to select, press Done in the next step
13After the disk interface is selected, select LVM mode partitioning.
14. After setting, do the next step to the account setting interface to set your own account and password
15 Select Install SSH service in order to log in to the system remotely after completing the installation
16After setting, select Done, display installation (this step will take longer)
17. Select Restart System and wait for the system to restart.
