Municipal leaders met with the vice mayor of Taiwan's New Taipei City and his party

Yesterday, Chen Zhiying, member of the Standing Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal CPC Committee and executive vice mayor, met with Li Sichuan, vice mayor of Taiwan's New Taipei City, and his party at the Dongfang Hotel. Zeng Weidong, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Municipal CPC Committee, accompanied him to the meeting.

On behalf of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal CPC Committee and the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, Chen Zhiying welcomed the delegation and their entourage and gave a brief introduction to the economic and social development of Guangzhou City in recent years and the exchanges and cooperation between Guangzhou and Taiwan.

Chen Zhiying said that for a long time, exchanges and cooperation between Sui and Taiwan have been very close. As of June this year, Guangzhou has approved a total of 3,251 Taiwan-funded projects, about 20,000 permanent residents of Taiwanese businessmen, Taiwanese management cadres and their dependents, and more than 200,000 employees of Taiwan-funded enterprises. Chen Zhiying pointed out that in February this year, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council issued the "31 Measures to Benefit Taiwan Compatriots", and on July 30, Guangzhou City issued the "60 Measures to Benefit Taiwan Compatriots in Guangzhou"; a few days ago, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council issued the Measures for handling residence permits for Taiwan residents, which provided convenient conditions for Taiwan compatriots to develop on the mainland, and we welcome Taiwan compatriots to Guangzhou for investment, employment, entrepreneurship and life.

Li Sichuan said that the main purpose of leading the New Taipei Municipal Tourism Bureau, the Economic Development Bureau and other departments to visit Sui for exchanges is to strengthen the economic and cultural ties between New Taipei City and Guangzhou City, and to further promote and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.
