"Shanxi folk song king" Gao Baoli died in a car accident at the age of 44

In 2018, Gao Baoli and a number of Shanxi singers returned to their hometown to perform

Shanxi Daily new media reporter Hou Jin reported that on February 24, Shanxi singer Gao Baoli died in a car accident at the age of 44.

Gao Baoli, a Chinese tenor singer and soloist at the China Opera and Dance Theatre, was born in September 1976 to a peasant family in Lingqiu County, Shanxi Province, and later joined the Luoluo Cavity Theater Troupe in Lingqiu County.

In 2005, with an original song "Looking Up at the Flat Guan", Gao Poly began to receive widespread attention. Since then, he has continuously participated in CCTV's "Avenue of Stars", "Roots of Huaxia" Shanxi Folk Song Concert, "Guangyao Taihang" Shanxi Folk Song Concert, the Fourth China National Culture Expo, Beijing New Year Concert and other important programs and performances.

In 2006, Gao Baoli was accepted as a closed disciple by the famous singer Wang Kun, known as the "Bole of Music in the Singing World", and became a soloist in the China Opera and Dance Theatre. In the same year, he won the only solo excellence award for Han singers in the 12th National Young Singers Television Grand Prix.

In 2008, Gao Baoli won the bronze medal in the national final of the 13th National Young Singers Television Grand Prix, and was the first Han singer to receive this honor in the original ecological singing method of the previous Youth Song Competition. In the same year, Gao Baoli was elected as a deputy to the People's Congress of Datong City, Shanxi Province, and a member of the Youth Federation of the Ministry of Culture, and was known as the "King of Western Song" and "King of Folk Songs of Shanxi".

Gao Poly's singing voice is bright and rough, high-pitched and clear. He has released a personal album "Polar Heavenly Sound", which contains classic folk songs such as "Shandan Dan Blossoms Red and Bright" and "Peach Blossom Red Apricot Blossom White". Gao Baoli has always been extremely concerned and supportive of the cultural undertakings in his hometown, having previously served as a deputy to the Datong Municipal People's Congress for two terms, and later a member of the Datong Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the content of the proposal is still culture, including the national intangible cultural heritage "Luo Luo Cavity".

On September 6, 2013, he brought his first solo concert back to Datong to hold the most beautiful song to his hometown fathers and elders. This is also the first time that a Shanxi original ecological folk singer has held a concert in his own name. During the singing, he said affectionately: "Some people say that I am the pride of Datong, and I dare not accept it. But as a Datong person, I am proud! ”
