Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Steam Remastered recently received updates, and while the version is still DX12, it seems that these updates remove support for ray chasing. In addition, Dolby Atmos in Resident Evil 3 headphones has also been removed.

Last year, these two games ushered in a "next-generation" update along with Resident Evil 7, adding ray tracing and increasing resolution and frame rates. However, according to the reaction of many players on Reddit, the recent update has removed the ray tracing option.

As shown below, this is a screenshot of the screen options of Resident Evil 2: Remastered displayed by Reddit player Kaorai, showing that there is no ray tracing option after yesterday's patch.

Interestingly, Capcom didn't mention new patches for these games, though SteamDB did list an unnamed patch that was launched yesterday. The same goes for Resident Evil 3: Remake. However, Resident Evil 7 on SteamDB does not show that there are new patches recently, and although there are also players on Reddit who have reported that Resident Evil 7's light chase has also been removed, there is no evidence yet.

A few days ago, Capcom announced that it would end support for DX11 non-optical versions of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 in July.
