Born in 1930, Gu Shufen is the chief designer of the Chinese J-8II aircraft and a "double academician" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Chen Jiaer was born in 1934, a physicist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. His father, Chen Bochui, was a well-known Chinese children's literature writer and translator.

Song Shusheng is one of the main founders of the China Translation Association. From 1980 to 1996, he served as director of the Central Compilation Bureau.
