Elvin Hayes was selected by the San Diego Rockets (now Houston Rockets) as a top pick in the first round of the 1968 NBA Draft, was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in his rookie season, and was named the NBA scoring champion the following year. He was traded to the Baltimore Bullets (now the Washington Wizards) in 1972 and won the NBA championship with the Bullets in 1978. He returned to the Houston Rockets in the 1981–82 season. Bill Russell (February 12, 1934 ~ July 31, 2022), born in Monroe, Louisiana, United States, American former professional basketball player, coach, and professional center, nicknamed "The Lord of the Rings" because of his playing career won 11 NBA championship rings, is the main center of the Boston Celtics in the 60s of the 20th century, and is also considered the best defensive center in NBA history.
In the 1956 NBA Draft, Bill Russell was selected by the St. Louis Hawks with the second pick in the first round to join the Boston Celtics under a series of transfer operations by Arnold Auerbach. During Russell's time as center, the Celtics won nine NBA championships in 10 seasons, including an eight-game winning streak. In 1966, Russell became the first black coach in NBA history. During Russell's tenure as player and coach, he won two more championships. In his 13-year career, Russell was named NBA regular-season MVP five times, NBA All-Star Team 12 times and All-Star MVP in 1963, All-NBA First Team three times, NBA All-NBA Second Team eight times, and NBA Rebounding Champion four times. Wilt Chamberlain holds numerous NBA all-time records, and he is the only player to average more than 40 and 50 points per game in a season, and his most famous record is 100 points per game.
