Compromise or rigidity, the difference between a merchant and a literati

I have been reading Huawei-related books in recent days, and today I just started to read this "Huawei Work Method" compiled by teacher Huang Jiwei, when I read this part, I suddenly remembered the variety show "Thirteen Invitations" of Teacher Xu Zhiyuan that I watched last night, which happened to be about looking for Tan Sitong, reading this part of the text, and then thinking of Tan Sitong himself, my heart was inexplicably mixed.

Ren Zhengfei founded Huawei in Shenzhen at the age of 43, starting with a registered capital of 20,000 yuan, and now it has an annual revenue of 100 billion yuan. Ren has been talking about "staying alive," so compromises inside and outside may inevitably be understood, which he calls "moderate grayscale."

When Tan Sitong was arrested for failing to change the law in the restoration, he would have had a chance to escape, but he told those who persuaded him to leave: "All countries change the law from bloodshed, and today China has not heard of anyone who has shed blood because of the change of law, and the reason why this country is not prosperous." Yes, please start with the same heirs. Finally, in September 1898 (the twenty-fourth year of Guangxu), he bravely died at the Caishikou Execution Ground outside Xuanwumen in Beijing, at the age of 33.

The minds of the literati are not whether individuals can live, but whether my country can live better, what will happen to all living beings, and what will happen to society. He wants to exchange his death for the blood of the rest of the people with lofty ideals, awakening their inner boiling and ambition.

It is ridiculous to say that the ancient literati seemed to have the end of "heart higher than the sky, life thinner than paper".

Teacher Xu Zhiyuan gave a blow to the soul in the last scene of the show, he sat in front of Tan Sitong's tomb and asked: "If you had escaped or not been killed in the autumn of 1898, what would have been your life?" How would you deal with the turmoil of the future....If you lived to this day, would you feel that the current Liuyang is what you desire? Will you like this era? ”。

In the comparison between the two sides, it cannot be said that the judgment is high, or who is right and who is wrong, after all, the times are different, Tan Sitong faced Cixi, the actual controller of the country; Ren Zhengfei faced a fiercely competitive shopping mall, and the different identities of literati and businessmen made them choose different paths when facing "death".

Therefore, today, we remember Tan Sitong's heroic deeds and sacrificed his life to change the law;

We also learn from Ren Zhengfei's "grayscale", first to live, and then to talk about ideals and distant places.
