Official: Tony Kroos retired from the German national team

Official news, 31-year-old Kroos retired from the German national team, and the German midfielder announced the news on personal social media.

Kroos wrote: "I have played 106 games for Germany and there will be no next time.

"I very much hope that this number will be fixed at 109 games and bring Germany this important title of European Championship, and I have given everything I have for it.

"I decided to quit the national team after this European Championship a long time ago, and I know very well in my heart that I will not play with the team for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

"Mainly because I want to focus entirely on what I'm aiming for at Real Madrid in the next few years. And I've been playing for the national team for 11 years in a row.

"As a husband and father, I also want to spend time with my wife and three children. It was a great honor for me to be able to wear the German jersey for such a long time. I'm incredibly proud and passionate about it.

"Thank you to all the fans and fans for the applause and cheers that have sustained me forward. I would also like to thank all the criticism, which gave me extra motivation.

"Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to Loew for making me an international, a world champion. Loew trusted me, and we wrote success stories over a long period of time.

"It's an honor for me. Good luck to Hans Frick and look forward to his success. ”
