Born on November 13, 1992, Mohammed is a 1.98-meter tall, 103kg tall and 103kg graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles. In the 2013 NBA Draft, he was selected by the Timberwolves with the 14th pick in the first round.

In the 2014-2015 season, he played in 38 games for the Timberwolves, averaging 22.8 minutes per game, contributing 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists, and scoring 35 points in a single game during his playing period.
