Synopsis of the classic comedy film Death at the Funeral (UK Version):

Daniel (Matthew Macfadyen) is a long-lost writer who has been living in the shadow of his famous writer brother Robert (Laporte Graves Rupert Graves). Silently shouldering the obligation of supporting his parents, he hosted his father's funeral this time, but he was also taken over by his brother.

The solemn and sacred funeral was stirred up by her cousin's fiancé, the poor Worm Simon (Alan Tudyk), who had mistakenly eaten hallucinogens. However, the bigger crisis follows when a mysterious dwarf man (Peter Dinklage) appears and blackmails Daniel with evidence that has ruined all of his father's reputation. It turns out that Daniel's father was gay, and this secret is about to be revealed after his death.

In the midst of chaos, funerals went on and on and on. Dramatic grief and humor quietly reveal to us the meaning of the funeral – remembering the deceased with love and allowing the living to bury their unsatisfactory past in the funeral.

Classic comedy film Death at the Funeral (UK Version) Highlights:

Death at the Funeral is a typical British comedy, lighthearted, exaggerated, direct, and absurd. It excels in being just the right amount of exaggeration, fun and not annoying. At the beginning of the film, looking at the heavy coffins and people dressed in black, but the music of the easy jumping sounded in my ears, I loved its soundtrack, with the English countryside, the houses covered with climbing tigers, fresh and lively, and there was a power that could make people let go of all unhappiness.

This funeral, which should have been serious, was very full and wonderful by "being treated as a tranquil psychedelic drug" and "the same-sex dwarf lover of the dead old man", especially the cute mr. dwarf with a serious face, what a creative plot, the British are really extremely absurd. Ugliness is still the main means of necessity, Simon is naked on the roof and sucking on the bottom, Mr. Dwarf jumps out of the coffin, and these can be hilarious and not childish at all. This is also due to the fact that every character in it is very personal and likable, the chubby Howard with a thin voice, the turnip head Justin (I've liked this person with personality since transporting), the grumpy old man Alfie, the British comedian is so dedicated and cute, so the film is exaggerated and unpretentious, and can easily make people laugh.

The director said that the story was so interesting that I really couldn't refuse it. Indeed, he directed it very successfully, the plot is compact, the jokes are frequent, and the key is that the ending does not fall into the cliché - generally such sketch movies, it is difficult to avoid at the end, after the laughter is settled, it is necessary to perform sensational drama. My most terrible ending, completely ruining a good movie, makes a comedy irrelevant. After all, "Death at the Funeral" can not avoid the relatively serious plot of ending the farce, giving Daniel an impassioned speech, but this paragraph is only simply taken, no applause, no tears, just used to declare that "the farce is over".

One of the scenes that impressed me the most made the film very artistic—two people who took psychedelics and ran to the roof stripped naked. I fell for this shot, whether it was the brightness of the day or the grayness of the dusk, it was as beautiful as the painting. This is the so-called performance art, and now a bunch of brainless people running around naked call themselves performance art, and there is no sense of beauty at all.

Attached is that authentic and touching eulogy:

My father was a different man, he may not be perfect, but he was a good man. He loves us. Is it too much to say that what I want to do today is to give him a solemn farewell ceremony? Well, maybe, maybe he has his own personal hobbies. Life is not simple, it is complicated, we are all taken together to a world full of chaos and turmoil, a world full of questions and answers, and death is always hovering around some corner. We did our best, but we couldn't always do the best, but, my father, he did. He kept telling me that you had to live the life you wanted to live, because you never knew when you were leaving, whether it was success or failure. The most important thing is that you have tried hard, and your parents can only show you the way, but in the end, you still have to break through on your own, you have to grow on your own. Well, after you leave here today, I want you to remember my father as he really was: a man of integrity and affection. Even if we can be as generous, willing to give, and empathetic as my father was. Well, the world will be a better place.

"Death at the Funeral" (British version) A unique and serious British comedy, a funeral with unexpected circumstances, various contradictions in the British family, excellent performances of different actors, unpretentious sensationalism is also a highlight, for such a crazy funeral, I am afraid that only the British who are accustomed to beans can make it up, this simple but profound comedy that can laugh and think has to be said to be the essence of British comedy movies.
