At the First People's Hospital of Lianyungang, I saw a statue of Liu Yilin. He's from our East China Sea and I'm proud. The reason why Liu Yilin's statue is in the first hospital of the city is also because Liu Yilin is the first president of the First People's Hospital of Lianyungang City.
Liu Yilin was born on June 12, 1908 in Fu'an Village, Punan Town, Donghai County. He received his M.D. from the University of Hamburg in 1933, becoming the first MD in Lianyungang. In 1934, Yiling Hospital was opened in Xinpu. In the course of 77 years of life, Liu Yilin has made unremitting efforts and courage to practice, made outstanding contributions to the development of medical and health undertakings in Lianyungang, and is known as the founder of modern medicine in Lianyungang
Liu Yilin graduated from tongji university school of medicine in 1931. He studied in Germany in 1932. He received his M.D. from the University of Hamburg in 1933. He has been elected as the people's representative of Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, and the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and has served as vice mayor of Lianyungang City, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, chairman of the Science and Technology Association, director of the Sports Committee, director of the Chinese Pediatrics Association, and vice chairman of the Municipal Medical Association. In April 1959, he joined the Communist Party of China.
