Capcom has announced that 4 million copies of Resident Evil 4 Remastered have been sold, and according to promoter Alex Aniel, Biochemical 4RE is the second fastest-selling title in the history of the Biochemical franchise in the first two weeks of its release. First place was Biochemical 6, which sold 4.5 million units in the same period, slightly higher than Biochemical 4RE.
Alex Aniel also said that Biochemical 6, despite high sales at launch, sluggish sales did not reach 5 million copies until 12 months later. Although Biohazard 4 Remake is a remaster, it has been well received after launch, and it will soon surpass Biochemical 6's data.
According to Alex Aniel, the time it took for the Resident Evil series to reach 4 million calls is as follows:
Resident Evil 6: 4.5 million copies sold on the first day of release in 1 day
Resident Evil 5: About 3 weeks
Resident Evil 8: Three weeks
Resident Evil 2: Less than 2 months
Resident Evil 7: Around 9 months
Resident Evil 3: Around 12 months
