After winning the gold, Hou Zhihui said in an interview that what she most wanted to do was to return to her hometown and spend a Mid-Autumn Festival holiday with her family, "after all, I have not gone back to the Mid-Autumn Festival for too many years." After learning of Hou Zhihui's idea, the Provincial Sports Bureau specially approved her to take an early vacation and go home for the holiday.

Hou Zhihui, a native of Zhangshi Town, Guiyang County, Chenzhou City, born in March 1997, is a Chinese female weightlifter. In February 2019, the women's 49 kg weightlifting World Cup (Fuzhou Station) and Tokyo Olympic Games Qualification Tournament won three championships with a snatch of 94 kg, a deadlift of 116 kg and a total of 210 kg, and broke the two world records of the snatch and total results of this level.

At the Asian Weightlifting Championships in April 2019, she won three categories: snatch, deadlift and overall results in the women's 49 kg category.

At the September 2019 World Weightlifting Championships, she won the women's 49 kg snatch, and finished second in the deadlift and overall results.

In December 2019, she won the women's 49 kg snatch, deadlift and overall results of the December 2019 Weightlifting World Cup (Tianjin).

On October 16, 2020, the "Kunshan Cup" 2020 National Women's Weightlifting Championships and Tokyo Olympics Simulation Competition 49 kg snatching gold medal (93KG).

On April 18, 2021, at the 2021 Asian Weightlifting Championships, the women's 49 kg competition, Hou Zhihui won the overall championship with 213 kg and set a new world record, while also breaking the world record with 96 kg and winning the championship.

On June 12, 2021, the chinese weightlifting team Tokyo Olympic Games roster was officially announced, and Hou Zhihui was selected.

On July 24, 2021, Hou Zhihui easily won the gold medal in the women's 49 kg competition at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

On September 16, 2021, in the women's weightlifting 49 kg category of the 2021 National Games, Hou Zhihui won the championship to grab the world record of 96 kg, and the total result of 214 kg exceeded her own world record.
