Content of the official website
Hello Elders. We all know that the Russian service has been operated by Lesta since independence, and now I call it "Leifu", and its operation strategy and product content are no longer the same as the tank world we play. Previously, I introduced you to the changes to the reeling mechanism of the Lesta Gun, and recently they published an article explaining their views on the SPG model, answering questions that many players have asked before. I read it, it is still quite valuable, can be used as a reference, this issue will show you for you.
Leifu artillery QA
Q&A
Q: Why didn't you remove the artillery directly from the game?
A: Artillery is an important part of the game and we don't plan to remove them. Vehicles with this type of play have the right to exist in the world of tanks, and it is popular with many players. It has been like this since the start of the service, only at some point the number of artillery players was large, and now it is less.
Q: Why not restore the artillery to the way it was before version 0.9.18? (AP era, no bullet shock)
Answer: We believe that artillery is a support combat vehicle, so artillery should mainly use shells that can bring shock, but now after the change, players can also choose AP shells and normal high-explosive shells. Artillery should help its allies, not become a decisive weapon that deals massive damage to enemies from the map edge. I still remember that the Mouse was smashed with more than 1000 blood by 261 AP shots, and we are not going to return to that era.
Q: Why not introduce the "one gun per team" restriction?
A: On the one hand, this will affect the balance of battles, especially for artillery players. On the other hand, we need to take into account all the players in World of Tanks, no matter what level or type of tank they are driving, we can't keep them waiting in line to enter the battle.
Q: Why don't you redesign the artillery chapters of your individual missions, specifically the T-55A and 260 gun missions, and do you think it's easy for artillery to be first on your side or on both sides in battle?
A: Personal tasks are a challenge to oneself, and sometimes a chance coincidence. These missions, especially Final Mission 15, don't have to be completed in just a few battles. Are they hard to complete? Of course it's hard. Do we know they're hard to accomplish? Of course we know. However, they are not simply impossible to accomplish.
Question: Will there be new lines of self-propelled guns in the near future? Will there be gold cannons?
A: There have been no such plans recently.
Q: Why did the Lesta suit change the shock mechanism?
Answer: The gun shock mechanic has been changed to allow players to better predict the effect of shelling and reduce the frustration caused by shell shock. We wanted to get rid of complicated formulas and calculations so that players could simply remember the time of the shock to understand it, and we did. However, some factors were overlooked during the testing process, which made the artillery shock effect too powerful and extremely detrimental to the player, and we are working on modifying it. Some people may ask, then why not just go back to the way it was? The answer is simple, it will take time and work to return to the way it used to be, and we believe that the changes we made are the right ones, so at this stage we will continue to revise until we have a satisfactory result.
Q: What is the effect of bullet shock shells, normal high-explosive shells and AP shells now? Which one do players prefer?
Answer: Players fire 50% of the shots are bullet shock shells, and the rest of the time they fire normal high-explosive shells and AP shells.
Q: Is it reasonable to have a bounce at the edge of the range as long as the center point?
A: From our perspective, this makes the shell shock effect more predictable for both the artillery player and the hit player. In the past, players could not accurately predict the time of the shock, and if the maximum shock time came, he basically could not fight any decent battle.
Q: The anti-vibration accessories of ordinary tanks have an average effect, why are they not designed to be completely unaffected by bullet shock?
A: We have specifically enhanced the effect of anti-vibration accessories, and if you equip accessories that can be completely unaffected by bullet shock, the gun will lose its support meaning. We do not intend to deny the existence of the entire model in this way.
My opinion
The questions answered in this issue of Lesta are actually quite sharp, and even the question "why not delete artillery" is answered head-on. At the end of the day, the developers just treated the gun as a car in the game, it was an integral part of the game, it just played a little differently. The Resta developers are also working to improve the experience of artillery players and regular tank players, such as fixing the shock time, not refreshing/superimposing the new shock time if the second hit is in the shock time, and the bullet shock does not harm teammates. Although these moves are piecemeal, the developers of the good Lesta service are trying and working hard, and I think this is worthy of recognition. No matter what the effect is, as long as the starting point is good, no mistakes are made on the surface, and there are ideas to do it again, this is a good comrade. Learn on the job, improve while learning.
My attitude towards artillery has actually been very clear to you before - since its birth in 2010, there has been a lot of controversy about the model of artillery and this gameplay. The confrontation between ordinary tank players and artillery players is caused by unreasonable game design, players are only players, and their behavior within the rules of the game should not be blamed, and they should not bear the bitter consequences caused by unreasonable game design. There is no infighting between players, it will only hurt the revenge, which is the last thing I want to see. I am Anabel, Cardo, always thinking about the vital interests of our players.
