Mr. Yang Qing, a native of Fenghuang County, Xiangxi Province, joined the army in December 1984 at the age of 16 and joined the 51369 unit of the 41st Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, becoming one of the border guards in Guangxi. In December 2000, Mr. Yang Qing, who served as the deputy regiment, was transferred to the Fenghuang County Armed Forces Department. Two years later, he was discharged from the army.

Speaking of the original intention of joining the army, Mr. Yang quipped: "If you can't go to college, you will become a soldier." He thought that since he could not contribute to the country academically, he would devote himself to the military and serve the country. At that time, he graduated from high school and had been hired to be the secretary of the town party committee. When he proposed the idea of enlistment, Mr. Yang's mother did not approve of it and was worried. But in the end, he was persuaded to agree to go to the army.

The work style of the troops is vigorous and disciplined. I wake up at six o'clock every morning and go to bed at nine o'clock in the evening. Because the unit to which it belongs is a border defense field unit, the usual training is very difficult, such as requiring 40 pounds to run ten kilometers and crossing 200 river widths. For his outstanding performances, he also won the title of "quadrathlon" in the army. He said that only by sweating more in peacetime can there be less bloodshed in wartime. This sentence is very true, the real is cruel. During his time as a soldier, he participated with the company in the counterattack against Vietnamese self-defense, and when he attacked Yin Shan, 137 men of the reinforced company participated in the battle, and only 37 survived. He also clearly remembered that a conscript named Bai Li was shot and killed after only 5 minutes out, and the company commander lost an eye to save a child. On the battlefield, cold weapons can take away a fresh life without hesitation, and no one knows which will come first tomorrow or accident. In the game of life and death, the PLA is always ready to face war and defend every inch of peaceful land.

After experiencing so much, Mr. Yang Qing also put forward his own views on the friendship of war. He said that comradeship is different from ordinary friendship, and comradeship is a love of life and death, a friendship of life for life, whether it is an exercise or actual combat, it is to use life to protect the other side and protect comrades-in-arms. As he said, comrades-in-arms are a team, and if there are no comrades-in-arms on the battlefield, and there is no one who can rest assured that they can trust their backs, they will be sacrificed at any time.

In the army, he not only gained sincere comradeship, but also felt the joy of hardship. During the break, the comrades-in-arms sang together, one should be one and one, everyone was passionate, and after several confrontations, they did not feel tired. Invite each other to play basketball, feel the thrill of sweating like rain, and the hard work of training is swept away. Happiness in life can be so simple and so real.

After retiring from the military, Mr. Yang Qing worked on golf courses and field activity bases. To this day, although it has been many years since leaving the barracks, the basic queue training requirements are still kept in mind, and the target shooting posture still has the charm of the past. This is a soldier, no matter how time passes, something has already taken root in the marrow.

He is very responsible, considerate of his family, and takes the initiative to take care of housework. Leisure time, very fond of sports, often running, swimming, is a sports expert. Although he has been discharged from the army for many years, his patriotism has not diminished, he always pays attention to the development of the country, and there are many small national flags decorated at home, and when Mr. Yang's daughter proposed that she wanted to join the army, he was also very supportive and proud.

Enthusiastic young people have a dream of military service, but some parents will be very opposed. Because they are worried that their children will delay normal homework during their military years, it will be difficult to make academic breakthroughs after returning to school, which will affect employment in the future. Many factors make the dream of military service unattainable. However, Mr. Yang Qing is very supportive of eligible young people joining the army, and combined with his own experience in joining the army, the army can cultivate a stronger sense of responsibility and discipline, so that its behavior is not excessive.
