On the occasion of the centenary of the Party, the "Still Looking at the Present Dynasty - Xu Qinghua Bund Huge Wild Grass Scene Creation Activity" was held on June 5 on the Shanghai Bund Flood Control Wall Viewing Avenue.
Xu Qinghua, professor of the School of Media and Communication of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and vice chairman of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association, splashed ink on the spot and created a 100-meter long cursive scroll of Mao Zedong's poetry, with a total area of 1,000 square meters, praising the great achievements of the Communist Party of China in leading the people of the whole country in revolution and construction.
Xu Qinghua uses a giant brush and special ink to complete the creation on a special writing cloth. The whole work is 10 meters high and 100 meters long, using wild grass font, and 4 Mao Zedong poems are written, including "Qingping Le Huichang", "Water Tune Song Head, Heavy On Jinggangshan", "Bodhisattva Man, Dabaidi", and "Qinyuan Spring and Snow".
The work begins with "Oriental Desire to Know" and ends with "Still Looking at the Present Dynasty", looking back at the glory days, praising the new look of the era, and inspiring people to create a better life in the future with confidence.
In recent years, Xu Qinghua has created huge cursive books on the spot many times, and planned to complete the "Pujiang Trilogy" on the three banks of the confluence of Suzhou Creek and Huangpu River. Among them, in September 2019, he has created 300 square meters of cursive on Pudong Binjiang Avenue, and in 2020, he created "I Love the North Bund" on the roof of Magnolia Square, and the creation of the Bund is the final work of the "Pujiang Trilogy".
