Shen Lihui, the founder of Modern Sky, has been suffering and deep ploughing in the mainland rock circle for many years and has received considerable returns. Last year, he sent his band "New Pants" to "Summer of the Band" and won the championship; this year, "Le Xia 2", he sent fulu shou, Gojo people and "The Right to Reshape the Statue" and other bands, and took the championship.
Remodeling and the Five Man, the first and second in the final HOT5 band, are also the most contrasting Gemini constellations on the stage of "Le Xia 2".
The five people, with the warmth, humidity and casualness of the night in the southern town, are extremely affinity; while the reshaping comes from the steel jungle of modern urban high-rise buildings, the fiery passion is hidden under the industrial machinery and coldness, interpreting what is called "respect and distance" under the wrapping of upbringing, and even exclusion.

Musical strength is judged, and the reshaped championship is well deserved, but since this way, the doubts and controversies they have faced have almost never stopped.
The band, which has always put "high sense" on its lips, seems to have anticipated what they would face when participating in a variety show like "Le Xia", so after more than a year of entanglement and resistance, they finally decided to stand on that stage.
At the same time, as another way to maintain authenticity and voice, the remodeling also stood in front of Figrue's camera, using documentary to complete the "remodeling" of the story.
Huang Jin was the last member to join the "Right to Reshape the Statue", but he and Liu Min met much earlier than lead singer Hua Dong.
When she was in high school in Chengdu, Liu Min had already started playing a band. During the performance, they met Huang Jin and his band, and the two slowly became very good friends. Around 2001, Liu Min went to Nanjing to perform and settled down for a short time, and under the introduction of friends, he met East China, who quit the domestic post-friend band PK14 and returned to his hometown nanjing. Later, Liu Min came to Beijing with Huadong to make music, recruited drummer Ma Yi, and formally established the "Right to Reshape the Statue" in 2003.
In interviews many years later, Liu Min and Hua Dong already have vague memories of each other's first meeting, and only Huang Jin firmly remembers the excitement of seeing the remodeling scene for the first time.
"As a viewer, a remodeled performance is an 'intracranial orgasm' for me." Huang Jin was also the drummer of another Chengdu band sound toy at the time, but he was completely impressed by the charm of the reinvention, "The three of them are like a sacrifice to themselves, completely in their own world, I feel particularly moved." 」
After the remodeled performance, a fairly big foreign band took the stage, but in Huang Jin's feeling, "the remodeling is better than these foreign bands".
For a band, the deep appreciation of each other between the members is almost one of the absolute conditions, and fate does not spare these three people. More than a year after Huang Jin left the sound toy, he received a call from Hua Dong, "I remember his original words very clearly, he said that now we are all thirty, do you want to try again?" I thought about it for a moment and said yes. Then I'll take a trip to Beijing, try it, and then I'll try it again and it's over."
At the dinner table that night, Hua Dong and Liu Min formally proposed an invitation, hoping that Huang Jin would join the remodeling and become a team.
The arrival of Huang Jin has made the remodeling a real "remodeling".
F: When you know what it's like to take the first place.
Huang Jin: When I came to the stage to announce the rankings, I thought we should almost be third and fourth, and I didn't want to take the first place. Other teams want traffic to have traffic, to have an image, mainstream music values they have, we don't. There were only two left in the end, and I said that it must be the first of the five people, and I didn't even have to think about it. Teacher Ma Dong announced the second Five Jo people, we were shocked at the time, it was really the first. At that time, the mood was actually excited, but it was more or less unexpected.
F: You have been a domestic band for many years and have known many friends in other bands, what do you think is the main aspect of the uniqueness of the remodeling?
Huang Jin: The biggest problem of many musicians is that they are not confident. This lack of self-confidence is caused by many reasons, such as the pressure of life, such as the music you make that others do not agree with, for example, seeing that musicians in the same period have some fire, and they have not yet caught fire. At first, everyone is confident, and then it will change, and this uniqueness will disappear, and it will become the kind of person who was most hated before. There's something about reinvention that we call persistence. Why don't you like it and stick with it? Because I like it too much, I will continue to do it, and I can even not care too much, such as what others think, such as whether I can make money. When we were very embarrassed, we only had 200 yuan on us, and Huadong went out to buy a bottle of mineral water and lost 100...
F: Do you join reinvention as a one-shot or slowly?
Huang Jin: There is no team that does not have a run-in process: the run-in of personality, the run-in on music, and all kinds of run-in. Although I have known Liu Min for a long time, in fact, I have not been in the same city for many years, I don't know so much, and I don't know so much about East China. Coming to Beijing means living together and seeing each other every day, and this run-in stage took almost 3 or 4 years. In fact, they are still running in, Huadong and Liu Min (also) are still running in, which is an endless thing.
F: If you were to stand in the shoes of a bystander, how would you evaluate remodeling?
Huang Jin: Before (participating) Le Xia, it already had its own influence in China, but its impact on people was only the music itself, and there was almost nothing else. After Le Xia, the character of Hua Dong and Liu Min were amplified through the program, but in itself, the remodeling was still the music in front and the people in the back - I think this thing is enough to explain everything. If you must say the evaluation, I think that remodeling is the most responsible band, we only do what we should do, there is no relationship to touch, with the qualifications to represent independent rock, independent music.
In the history of European civilization, sculpture is regarded as a very important art form, which can be said to be one of the origins and symbols of European aesthetics.
The appearance of the word statue in the name of the band "The Right to Reshape the Statue" is not accidental and random, it will remind people of the aesthetic concept of this band, especially in East China.
On the stage of Le Xia, almost every performance in East China mentions "aesthetics". After winning the championship, his self-evaluation was also "In the end, we can get such results, I think it may indeed be a certain aesthetic aspect, can not say progress, is modernization."
But the so-called aesthetic in East China, in the understanding of many people, is that he thinks that English songs are more "advanced" than Chinese songs. The reason is that none of the albums released by Remodeling Chinese original songs – and they also missed the first season of Le Xia.
In an interview with Bad Guy FM, Huadong elaborated on the origins of writing songs in English: "In the beginning we had a lot (Chinese songs), and in the end there were five or six songs. For my first performance in Beijing, I felt like I was really singing too badly. I thought of countless ways, singing, emphasizing, melody... Once added Chinese the lyrics are not different. For a while I was frustrated and felt that I was not suitable to be a lead singer. At that time, we discussed using a few English words to outline a main song first, try it, and then (and then) think that something is right. I said let's sing it in English first, I didn't expect to sing it all the time."
Huadong believes that English is the most suitable language for rock music. When he was a guest on the LeXia spin-off show "Band I Do East", he also made an analogy: "If you are a native American, you can't say a word of Chinese, but you are fascinated by Peking Opera, will you sing Peking Opera in English or Chinese?" 」 But he then added, "Everything is not for internationalization, not for regional discrimination, not for the sake of superiority, just because my ability is too limited."
F: In the whole of Le Xia, have there been any thoughts that have not been in the past and are now entering your mind?
Huadong: I originally thought that a band like ours, there is no song that can cause that kind of big chorus, we have zero interaction with the audience; in the process of performance, we do not have any feelings to sell, and we will not grab the mirror through all kinds of ways of pretending to be crazy and stupid, shrewd scolding the street, and peasant uprisings, and finally we can get such results, I think it may indeed be a certain aesthetic aspect, can not say progress, is modernization.
F: Did you firmly believe from the beginning that as long as I can do what I like, others will accept it, or do you slowly become more and more determined?
Huadong: We like it ourselves, and this concept is very clear from the beginning. As for whether we can make more people accept it after we like it, this is actually something we have never considered. Today, probably because of Lexia, the number of people listening to our music has risen 10 times. Of course, this is a good thing, but this good thing I think is for the audience, and for the remodeling, there is no difference. It's just that maybe there will be opportunities in the future, we will face a larger crowd, more people to perform our songs, and that's it.
F: When your work comes out, it will take a while to get some recognition, will you hesitate or not care about it at all?
Huadong: Of course, I care, but this kind of care will not affect my emotions for too long. Because I know it's a good song, and it's a very different kind of good song, and this kind of good may not mean that it is good in the traditional sense, this kind of good is actually a provocative good, and I like this kind of thing.
F: What do you really mean when you say "don't believe in inspiration" on the show?
Huadong: Because maybe I used the wrong word at the time, I shouldn't use "not believing", but "not relying on". I think intuition is precious, it's similar to inspiration, or it's similar to a passion, but you can't rely on that intuition. Everyone who makes a band is initially involved in this industry because of a huge love of music, but why do many people not stick to it in the end? It's because the thing is gone. So what's left to keep you going? It's really self-enjoyment. The state in which you write songs, when you create, when you rehearse, when you perform, has nothing to do with the enthusiasm itself, it is a real appreciation of beauty, and the great sense of accomplishment that comes with creating beautiful things, which can last a long time.
F: As creators, do you want to express more of an aesthetic impact than a social one?
East China: So to speak. The reason why remodeling is remodeling, the core thing is aesthetics. In fact, I used to say the same thing before, but fewer people heard it. Through Le xia, many people have heard it, some people are very appreciative, and some people are very disgusted and spurned. It doesn't matter. Of course, it's not that you don't like to reinvent you're low, I mean that you may have a little less exposure to it, and it's that you may not be able to understand the beauty of our music for a while.
F: Is it important for you personally to be advanced or not advanced?
East China: For whom is not a very important thing? Isn't it important to make your life or your work more advanced? I think some people aren't that confident, so they don't dare to use that word. We are absolutely confident.
How did the reinvention begin? I started by watching the band that was on fire in Beijing at that time. I think even if you can do it, then I can do it better - although at that time I didn't play guitar for a day, I didn't play the lead singer for a day. I think my aesthetic, my understanding of music, is too advanced compared to you.
F : Since the establishment of Remodeling in 2003, you have realized that your aesthetic is better than the people around you?
Huadong: I don't realize it, I know it clearly. First I knew what I was listening to when I listened to music, and then I heard music made by other bands. Then at least in my own mind, it is clear which is higher and which is lower. And I don't think making music is yelling rock 'n' roll on stage, youth, tears in your eyes, it's all a lie. The music itself is the most important.
F: In your mind, what do you think the best remodeling is like?
Huadong: I think it is the most ideal state, when we are 60 or 70 years old, some young people will come and tell us: We just listened to your music to pluck up the courage, and it is precisely because of your influence that we pay attention to the music itself. I hope that at that time, we will still be able to maintain that curiosity according to our own aesthetics, according to our own hearts, and make different music.
In people's imagination, the remodeling after winning the championship will soon replicate the commercial success of the first season of the overall champion's new pants: running music festivals, receiving endorsements, going on variety shows... Then Nichijin Doujin.
During le xia recording, the three band and Joyside's guitarist Liu Hongwei ate hot pot in Beijing. Liu Hongwei praised the song "Love of a Lifetime" that was re-sung at the adaptation competition - it was the most out-of-the-loop song since the beginning of the remodeling competition - suggesting that they perform this song at the music festival in the future, and the scene must be very explosive.
Unexpectedly, Liu Min and Huang Jin said in unison, "It is because of this, so we will not act."
Reinvention is resistant to embarking on the broad road to commercial success. Huadong said in an interview: "There is one very important thing within us, after winning the championship, we must learn to say no, we must learn to refuse, that is, even if we are embarrassed, this is something that there is no way."
For those who don't like or don't understand the remodeling, Huadong should be the most arrogant and black in the band, but within the band, Huadong and Huang Jin are very clear that Liu Min is the most personality.
Eating hot pot with Huang Jin and Liu Hongwei, a few Sichuan compatriots, liu min, who is quiet and quiet, rarely reveals his heart: "Our purpose is to do more music that we like to do after the show, not to do anything else after the show." Being an old band actually still has to have a little responsibility, to give the new band (see). Otherwise, if we want to act like this, we will become an old cannon, and then we will want to keep eating the old book, and your music career will be over."
In 2017, after 8 years of remodeling, he released a new album "BEFORE THE APPLAUSE", which included "AT MOSP HERE" created by Huadong. Liu Min recalled that when the new song was completed, "Everyone said it was not good, Old Shen (Shen Lihui) did not like it, Meng Jinhui did not like it, and Huadong was also questioning himself, only I was particularly determined." I said you don't have to question yourself, it's enough for you to feel good about it during rehearsal."
"8+2+8 II" was performed for the first time in China, and the audience was confused. "After we finished the performance, it was silent, there was no reaction at all, there was no booing, but it didn't say yes, anyway, it was gone." 」
The second time in Texas, the scene exploded, and the audience kept shouting Encore around the band. The remodeled American agent said he had never seen a Chinese band perform abroad, which could make foreigners really hi. Liu Min said: "We were convinced that our judgment was right, and from now on, to make any musical judgment, we only need to hi ourselves." So I said I made music just to be self-congratulatory."
Independence, freedom, and only doing what you like music is the right to reinvent and defend to the death.
F: What is it like to take the first place in remodeling?
Liu Min: Originally, I didn't pay much attention to this ranking, but what if I took the first place? In fact, there is no change to the music itself, I can't say that you took the first place, and since then my music has done better. For me personally, I don't care about everything external, what I value most is ability. Can you have a better ability to write better, more in-depth music?
F: Does that prove in some way that reinventing what it has always insisted on is right?
Liu Min: I don't think it proves that reshaping is right to stick to this thing, but it proves that even if you do things according to your own ideas, you can still get outside recognition. You don't need to change yourself because of other people's opinions, as long as you think it's right, you can always have a good result, you don't need to say that you are too compromised.
F: Would you think it was all worth it?
Liu Min: If I can only choose whether it is worth it or not, then I will definitely choose it is worth it. It's not worth saying I've gained something, but because I think it's a rich and rare experience in life. If I hadn't participated in the show, I wouldn't have had that experience or experience from any other side.
F: A lot of people like you, a lot of cooperation comes to you, what kind of mood are you in?
Liu Min: I think it's a good thing overall, because you can have more income, you can do the music you want to make, and you are no longer subject to the acceptance of this music in the market. But the bad thing is that you have to grasp it yourself, whether you are doing these things in the way you like. We actually resist a lot of things, such as the fact that the work intensity is higher than before, and there are many other things that will distract you. Then you need to better arrange this time.
F: There may be more money coming in after that. Is there anything that hasn't been done for money reasons when it comes to reinvention?
Liu Min: There are too many, we have started to look at our new rehearsal room now, we want to move a big rehearsal room; and then we have to buy a lot of equipment, because our previous equipment has been used for many years, it is time to eliminate. I might move to a relatively empty house myself and make a better studio at home... This is what we have already thought about in Shanglexia, and this is what we do after we get the money.
F : Reinvention is 17 years old, which is a very important 17 years for a girl, how do you feel that you have changed?
Liu Min: I was born in Sichuan, and Sichuanese people are relatively lazy. After so many years of reinventing work, it has made me more disciplined. For what you have to do on your own, it is necessary to sacrifice some comfort.
