Turks Bagua City - the ultimate camp city idea of feng shui
Xinjiang Turks Bagua City is the only intact Bagua City in the world, and the relevant departments canceled the traffic lights on the road in 1996, making Bagua City a city without traffic lights.
About legends
Legend has it that the city of Turks Bagua was first arranged by Qiu Shuji, one of the seven sons of Quanzhen of Taoism in the Southern Song Dynasty. At that time, Changchun Zhenrenqiu was invited by Genghis Khan to go to the Western Regions, and when he passed through the Turks River Valley, he was moved by the mountain situation here, so he arranged this Bagua City. Bagua City is radial and circular, and the street layout is like a magical labyrinth, with roads and streets connected. At the same time, Bagua City has a strong folk custom, heavy historical culture and beautiful natural scenery, with a well-preserved Wusun ancient tomb group, the former site of the "summer capital" of Wusun Kingdom, grassland stone people, ancient tombs of the Cypriot people, ancient rock paintings, and rock wind tunnels.
Bagua City Camp City Structure
The planner and builder of Bagua City is Qiu Zongjun, which was built in 1937 and has little to do with the distant Yuan Dynasty. Why did Qiu Zongjun design Turks City in the shape of a gossip? Many people say that he is proficient in easy learning and familiar with the layout of gossip directions. Of course, this is also one of the reasons, but before the Tex Bagua City, the mainland also had cities built in the Bagua pattern, such as Shangqiu in the Ming Dynasty and Shenyang in the Qing Dynasty, but its Bagua City still adopts the traditional Chinese "outer circle and inside" structure, and the interior is still a checkerboard grid layout, while the Tex Bagua City is a circular radial trapezoidal extension, which is quite special.
There are four ring roads from the center to the outside, including 8 streets in the 1st Ring Road, 16 streets in the 2nd Ring Road, 32 streets in the 3rd Ring Road, and 64 streets in the 4th Ring Road. These streets form 64 trigrams according to the direction of the Bagua, which fully reflects the I Ching mathematics of 64 trigrams and 384 trigrams. In order not to let people get lost, directions signs have been set up on each street. From the center of the city radiating eight streets, "Qian", "Dui", "Leave", "Zhen", "Xun", "Kan", "Geng" and "Kun" eight streets, from the inside to the outside there are a total of four ring roads, the 30-meter-high "observation tower" in the center of the city can enjoy the entire Bagua City.
Scientific basis for site selection
First of all, the enclosure of Wusun Mountain in the north blocks the invasion of cold Siberian air, and the snow on the Muzitao Peak of the Tianshan Mountains in the south blocks the invasion of sandstorms and heat waves in the Tarim Basin, creating Bagua City with warm winters and cool summers, and no sand weather.
This is followed by Mount Dagenbel on the left and Mount Atentau on the right, located in the S bend of the Turks River, effectively blocking the crosswinds of the river canyon. Bagua City is right in the middle of two local heat ring air currents, forming a peculiar wind direction, the west wind in the morning, the east wind in the afternoon, and the quiet wind at noon.
Finally, there is the Turks River, with 8 billion cubic meters of water making Turks particularly rich in hydroenergy resources, which can generate electricity and irrigate, and is also a natural humidifier in Bagua City, laying the foundation for Tex's agricultural harvest and water energy development.
