author:A: Sincerity and eternityA

More than 80 years ago, at the foot of the Baiyi'an Monk Mountain in Brick Bridge Township, 60 miles southeast of the county seat of Lujiang, a 23-year-old female Communist Party member fell at gunpoint for the final victory of the revolution. She is Xia Chuanying, one of the people in charge of the central transportation station of the Tongwulu County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Since liberation, every Qingming season, there has been an endless stream of people who come to visit the graves of martyrs. The Young Pioneers placed evergreen pines and the most beautiful flowers in front of the tombs of the martyrs. For many years, the image of the hero has lived in the hearts of the people of Brick Bridge Country, and people miss her so deeply.

Chuanying was born in 1921 in a peasant family in Xibang Village, Brickqiao Township, Lujiang County. It is a remote mountain village with bamboo trees and beautiful mountains, located at the junction of Wuwei Lujiang and Lujiang counties. In the second year after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Kuomintang retreated one after another, and the Tonglu Wu area, where the New Fourth Army operated, became an important battlefield in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression behind enemy lines in central China.

From the winter of 1939 to the spring of 1940, after the Kuomintang set off its first anti-communist upsurge, our party opened up the Tonglu Guerrilla Base Area without Anti-Japanese Resistance. This area is one of the main routes between the New Fourth Army in the north and south of the Yangtze River, and the Japanese recalcitrant has deployed quite strong military forces here, and the 528th Regiment of the recalcitrant army has been stationed in Lujiang.

In order to crack down on this mass armed force, our party set up a Lunan guerrilla group in the area of Brick Bridge, with Hong Zengfu as its captain, and since 1938, Xia Chuanying has actively participated in the anti-Japanese activities led by the party, propagating the principle of resisting Japan and saving the country among relatives and friends, and teaching and drinking anti-Japanese songs among the masses, such as "Eat cabbage if you eat vegetables, become a soldier and become a new fourth army", "Brother goes to battle, sister is in the rear" and so on.

These red ballads are easy to understand and can be sung by men and women, young and old. Through the hard work of Chuanying and other comrades, the masses of Brick Bridge awakened, and many young people signed up to join the New Fourth Army. Chuanying's husband Liu Shize also joined the New Fourth Army in 1940 with the mobilization and support of Chuanying, and later served as a deputy platoon commander.

In 1944, Comrade Liu Shize died gloriously in the battle of Zhoujia Dashan in Wuwei County. Broad & Bright's brother Liu Shidao and Chuanying's nephew Xia Chengyi also joined the New Fourth Army successively and were honorable.

At that time, the guerrillas lacked guns and ammunition, and Chuanying tried his best to prepare for the guerrillas. Hong Zenglai's mother in this village opened a restaurant on Brick Bridge Street, and the township police often went there to eat, sometimes without money, they took bullets and grenades as deposits, and Chuanying approached Hong Mu, often talked to her heart, inspired her patriotism, and bought many bullets and grenades for the guerrillas.

In 1939, Chuanying joined the Communist Party of China. Since then, local party organizations have often sent her to various places to scout the enemy situation and deliver letters and news. In the second half of 1941, due to work needs, Chuan Ying was sent to work in the 7th Division of the New Fourth Army to work in a service factory.

She ran literacy classes in the factory, and she actively mobilized women to participate in learning; organized the Young Women's Team, and she was the first to sign up; The troops needed military shoes, and she mobilized everyone to do it. She also took the time to learn cultural knowledge and revolutionary theory. In the fiery struggle, Chuanying gradually grew into a strong revolutionary fighter.

In 1942, when the situation in the Lunan struggle deteriorated day by day, the 528th Regiment of the 176th Division of the Gui recalcitrant army and some local recalcitrant troops stepped up their encirclement of the guerrilla mountainous areas, and at the same time generally implemented the system of protecting armor and implementing the "joint guarantee of five households", stipulating that if one of the five households joined the New Fourth Army, he would not report it, and Yahu would be guilty of the same crime. In addition, the Kuomintang secret service organization "Anti-Rape Brigade" was set up in Beixiang and Baodu to wantonly search for and arrest anti-Japanese workers.

Our Party's anti-Japanese activities were forced to move from open to underground, and a secret communication network was established in the areas of Brick Bridge, Fengdian, Pheasant Shop, and Kaigata. In March, Xia Chuanying was organized to send the Tonglu Wuxian Party Committee to continue to engage in underground transportation work. After that, she often wore a cloak, a short robe, and straw shoes, risking her life to travel back and forth to Tonglu Wu to carry out underground liaison work.

The practice of struggle made her slowly become sophisticated, she learned a lot of common sense to carry out underground activities, be bold and careful, and cope with it easily. She sometimes stuffed letters in her eyes, sometimes wrote them on large sheets of paper with alum, and straw shoes, rice baskets, hemp rope and brooms were all things she hid in her letters.

In case of emergency, Chuanying often flicked off the "tail" and "hide-and-seek" with the enemy, and on one occasion, Chuanying was ordered to quickly send a secret action plan to the Lunan guerrillas, she knew that this letter was related to the success or failure of the struggle in the Lunan region, and the responsibility was heavy, and she had to endure all the hardships and complete the tasks assigned by the party. Disguised as a peasant woman, she carried a bamboo basket and set off along a rugged mountain path.

As soon as she walked ten miles away, she found that there was an enemy set up a card at the mountain pass in front, and hurriedly found another path out of the mountain, she climbed the towering mountain bee, zigzagged on a dangerous road full of thorns and rocks, and finally successfully reached Shimenan, and handed over the letter to the guerrillas.

One day in March 1943, when the guerrillas were stationed at the home of Zhu Yongzu, a landlord in Pujialing, Xia Chuanying learned that the enemy's 528th Regiment was also coming here on that day, and she immediately crossed the bridge with another woman, Hong Zengying, and went to Pujialing, where she reported the situation to the guerrilla leader Hong Quanfu, and the guerrillas quickly left Pujialing and avoided an encounter with the recalcitrant army.

On another occasion, Chuanying delivered a letter to Liushikou in Tongcheng, and on the way, she found an enemy standing guard in the distance, and immediately tore up her clothes, draped her hair, pretended to be crazy and sold money, blindfolded the enemy's sentry, and delivered the letter to the designated place. In November, Zhou Xiong, commander of the 528th Regiment of the enemy, sent Xu Junming, the head of the Kuomintang township, with the Guangxi Army and the township police to continuously come to the brick bridge to clear and suppress it, and the party organization was destroyed.

A few weak-willed people could not stand the test, defected and turned themselves in, some timid people fled, but Chuanying's revolutionary will remained steadfast. Her activities were noticed by the enemy, and there were often people who circled around her house. Worried about her safety, comrades advised her to move as soon as possible, and Chuanying said: "My situation is indeed very dangerous, but if I leave, there will be no one to contact in all aspects of work, which will bring greater losses to the party's work." ”

Her timid sister-in-law repeatedly persuaded Chuanying to leave the brick bridge, and she said to her sister-in-law: "Don't be afraid, at most kill the head." "The search and arrest of the enemy, the informant of the traitor, is always threatening Chuanying; However, Chuanying did not avoid hardships and dangers, was not afraid of danger, and continued to insist on working. Something unfortunate finally happened.

On the 24th day of the lunar month, Chuanying was disguised, preparing to send a piece of information to the headquarters of the 7th Division of the Wuwei New Fourth Army, and brought some New Year goods to see her husband by the way. Just as he was about to leave, the traitor Liu Kaitai broke into Chuanying's house with more than 30 people, including an officer of the Gui family and Xu Junmin, the head of the Kuomintang township.

Chuanying saw that the situation was critical, and quickly crumpled the secret letter into small balls and stuffed it into his mouth and swallowed. The enemy did not get the secret message, so he tied up Chuanying and dragged him away.

After his arrest, Chuanying showed the noble integrity of the communists. The enemy's prison became the battlefield of her persistent struggle; The court of the enemy became a platform from which she angrily denounced the enemy. The interrogation room was dark and cold. Chuanying stood there fearlessly, and she built a steel defense line in her heart that the enemy could not penetrate.

The chief inquisitor, on the presumptuous intention of his master, He Manze, the captain of the "anti-rape" brigade, "tried to persuade him to surrender," pretended to scold his subordinates, and ordered Chuanying to loosen his bindings, and then stepped forward with a treacherous smile: "Hehe, I have wronged you." What kind of Communist Party do you want to do in the future, what are the benefits of the Communist Party? As long as you name the list of party organizations and party members, you can go immediately. ”

Chuanying said coldly: "If you want to talk about the Communist Party, I am the only one on the brick bridge, and if you want to kill or cut, you want." The presiding judge continued to pretend to say, "We are very happy to invite you." You are young and capable, as long as you tell the party organization, you can be the wife of our officers..."

Without waiting to finish, Chuanying "snapped" and slapped the enemy twice, saying: "Your family has mothers, sisters, and sisters, and ask them to be your official wives." ”

The chief judge was embarrassed and angry, and suddenly turned around and shouted: "Drag Lao Tzu down, beat him hard", and then the water-stained hemp rope fell on Chuanying's body like raindrops.

After a while, Chuanying's whole body was open and flesh, but she gritted her teeth and didn't snort. The enemy continued to interrogate: "Where are the communists?" Say! Chuanying replied majestically: "I said that I am the only Communist Party in Brick Bridge Township, and if you want to kill, you can kill and play any kind of majesty." ”

"Bring the bamboo stick!" The enemy howled in anger and corruption. Chuanying's hands were tied behind the back of the wire, and each finger was held between chopsticks. One bamboo stick after another was nailed into the tips of her fingers. The blood flowed, the blood and flesh were blurry, and Chuanying fainted.

A palpitating splashing sound. "Say or not?" "I don't know!" Chuanying made a faint but still firm voice. The enemy screamed like crazy: "Savage! Savages! Kill! "Prison can torture the body of a revolutionary, but it cannot destroy the fierce loyalty of a revolutionary.

Although Chuanying was trapped in Tutu, she did not forget the task assigned by the party, and she managed to ask someone to bring a letter to Comrade Lu Yu, a traffic officer, so that he could come to visit the prison in order to transfer information. However, Lu Yu had not yet arrived, and the enemy Shu decided to put Chuanying to death.

In the early morning of the 27th of the lunar month, it was the darkest hour before dawn, the wind was miserable in the ancestral hall of the Wang Family in Brick Bridge Township, and two thugs dragged Chuanying, who was covered in scales, and threw her out of the gate of the ancestral hall. Chuanying glanced at the enemy with disdain and insisted that he walk towards the execution ground.

As usual, she was still from the kiln, so calm. The enemy said to her slyly: "It's not too late to say it, as long as you say it, you can be let out." Chuanying replied contemptuously to the tiger-wolf executioner: "There is nothing to say. ”

A harsh bullet sounded, Chuanying fell in a pool of blood, and the last slogan chanted by the martyrs resounded through the valley of Monk Mountain.

After Chuanying's death, murderous enemies cut off her head, cut off her limbs, and planted a sign next to the body that read "Who dares to collect the corpse, shoot the whole family". But the villagers were still in danger of their lives, helping Chuanying's sister-in-law wrap her head in an apron, hide it in a basket and steal it home, and bury it in Qiao Chong Village.
