In the end, the fierce competition between Liu Bang and Xiang Yu ended in failure, and Xiang Yu was forced to commit suicide by throwing himself into the river. Liu Bang eventually established his rule in the Han Dynasty and eventually ascended the throne.
The person Liu Bang hates the most

Yongya and Liu Bang are from the same hometown, but due to class differences and personal growth experiences, the two have very different personalities and do not intersect with each other. Yongya was born into a prominent aristocratic family, and he regarded himself very highly, thinking that the common people were inferior, and naturally would not put Liu Bang in his eyes. And Liu Bang caused trouble when he was a teenager, the villagers were dissatisfied with him, and the poor family made Yongya despise him even more.
Although Liu Bang had a relationship with Yongya, at the time of the uprising, Liu Bang still decided to accept Yongya. Instead of taking into account the contradictions of the past, he showed full trust and tolerance. Liu Bang hoped that Yongya would be able to assist him like a brother, so he gave Fengyi to Yongya to garrison.
But Yongya soon discovered that his self-confidence was overly optimistic. During his time in Fengyi, he made many wrong decisions, which led to a low morale in the army, and some people even ran away. In the end, Yongya had to ask Liu Bang for help, asking him to come to Fengyi's rescue. Although Liu Bang was a little disappointed, he decided to help. In the end, Liu Bang succeeds in rescuing Fengyi, but it also makes him doubt Yongya's ability and integrity.
Despite Yongya's arrogant personality, he was accepted by Liu Bang. Liu Bang hoped that his fellow villagers could work hard together like brothers to fight the world, so he gave him Fengyi to garrison. However, Yongya is not a trustworthy person, he lacks courage and ability, but he is self-righteous and looks down on Liu Bang, a former gangster. Such people are naturally easily tempted by others. The Wei general Zhou Shi took a fancy to Yongya's vanity and promised to give him the opportunity to become a marquis and govern Fengyi if he betrayed Liu Bang. Ignoring his conscience and righteousness, Yongya eventually defected to the Wei state and became a traitor.
When Liu Bang heard the news that Fengyi was annexed by the Wei state, his heart was full of anger and dissatisfaction, but he could not do anything but watch the former territory being encroached on little by little, and he had no choice but to watch the land being swallowed up helplessly.
Later, Yongya decided to surrender Xiang Yu. Soon, however, his boss, the general Zhang Er of the State of Zhao, was forced to leave due to the defeat. In this case, Yongya rejoined Liu Bang's camp. Although Liu Bang seemed happy on the surface, deep down he longed for Yongya to be put to death.
Yongya was well aware of Liu Bang's thoughts, so he stepped forward every time he fought, hoping to make up for his betrayal in this way and show his loyalty. Liu Bang was a magnanimous monarch who chose to spare Yongya's fault. But when the final battle was won, Liu Bang began to ponder, because how to deal with those who had betrayed him?
Zhang Liang's clever plan
Yongya and others had offended Liu Bang, and when they were divided, they began to suspect Liu Bang's intentions, fearing that Liu Bang would use this opportunity to start a rebellion. So, they gathered and prepared to start a rebellion. Liu Bang was frightened by this situation and immediately summoned Zhang Liang and asked them how to deal with it?
Zhang Liang asked Liu Bang: Who is the person you hate the most? Liu Bang replied without hesitation: Yongya! This person once betrayed Liu Bang, and now he has become so unscrupulous, using himself as a fellow villager to oppress the people. Liu Bang decided to take revenge on him as a way to vent his deepest anger.
Zhang Liang said: "Today, it is urgent to seal the Yongya first to show the group of ministers, and when the group of ministers see the Yongya seal, everyone will be strong." Zhang Liang's plan is good, this sentence means to tell Liu Bang that if you can make the most hated person regardless of previous suspicions, then other ministers will realize that they will not be retaliated against, so that people's hearts will be stable.
Sure enough, a small scheme strangled the unstable situation in the early days of the Han Dynasty in the cradle. Liu Bang did what Zhang Liang suggested and rewarded Yongya. This good start reassured the ministers that they would definitely get a piece of the pie. Later, Yongya also died well, and was not retaliated against, and after his death, he was given the title of Marquis of Su.
Liu Bang was undoubtedly a wise ruler, and he gave a lot of rewards to reassure the people. Zhang Liang was even more outstanding, he only needed a few words to solve the chaotic situation at that time. This shows that the way the ancients used people was both interesting and efficient.
