Hengjiang Ancient Town belongs to Xuzhou District, Yibin City, located in the south of Yibin City Guanhe River, 42 kilometers away from the city, and Yunnan Shuifu City Louba Town across the river, because of the upper Guizhou Bijie, Yunnan Zhaotong, the lower Sichuan Xufu Chongqing, since ancient times is a very important material distribution center, Qin Wuchi Road, Han Xun Road, Sui and Tang Shimen Road are passing here, is an important node on the South Silk Road, but also an important military important place, Zhang Xianzhong, Shi Dakai are stationed here, to the Qing Jiaqing period developed into a famous commercial and trade town in southern Sichuan.
On a rainy day in March, driving my Envision S from the city and arriving in Guzhen after an hour to park the car, the first feeling I felt was like an enclave in Yibin City, whether you are from the highway or the provincial highway or the county road, you have to go to Shuifu City in Yunnan first and then arrive.
Walking into the town from the parking lot, I looked up and saw a tall building, which was the Xiao Mansion by the Xiongguan River. The building combines the cultural elements of traditional ancient architecture in southern Sichuan and the architectural style of Western-style villas, and was built in 1920 by Xiao Xizhen, then magistrate of Pingshan County and commander of Jin, Guanlianghe Qingxiang. I can't go inside because of maintenance, but you can see the grandeur of the mansion from the outside.
Hengjiang Ancient Town is located in the main road of water and land transportation, there are many business names in the town, the famous ones are Jintai Merchant, Bingchangxiang Merchant, Nantong Business. Because these well-preserved old buildings in the town are still the residences of local residents, they are not open to the public, so they can only be explored outside, but they also feel the exquisite inside of the courtyard.

Strolling through the ancient town, I came to the Zhu family residence. This is a combination of Chinese and Western garden mansions. Formerly known as "Shicheng Villa", it was the residence of Zhu Guangde and his son Zhu Dawen, a famous family in Hengjiang. Unfortunately, the house is being repaired and is temporarily not open to the public, so you can only watch it from outside.
Walking on the bluestone paved streets of the ancient town, there are merchants and small restaurants on both sides, full of quaint market taste, but people do not feel a little commercial atmosphere, more human fireworks, is the shortness between the parents of the neighborhood, shop owners chat with each other across the street, and the goods they buy are almost all household products, and the life of the people in the ancient town also shows the leisureliness of local residents who are at ease with each other.
Wander the alleys of the old town, where the mottled stone walls tell the story of ancient memories, while the blooming flowers reveal the atmosphere of the times.
Hengjiang Ancient Town is not large, and it took three hours to basically walk through the main streets. Hengjiang Ancient Town is very large, there are 32 well-preserved and still in use residential courtyards, and I have only visited a few, and the local residents told me that if I come during the Spring Festival, there will be various folk performances, which is very lively, and it seems that I will have to come once during the Spring Festival next year.
