The earth is a vast land, and human beings have a history of more than three million years on the earth, but three million years is only a drop in the ocean for the earth's 4.6 billion years. On this land, there are many mysterious places waiting for us to excavate, and Lop Nur in China is one of the mysterious places. Lop Nur is located in the southeast of Xinjiang on the mainland, in the early seventies of the last century, the United States Earth Resources satellite was launched, it scanned the surface of the earth one by one, to observe our planet. In western China, there is a "big ear" that attracts people's attention, this big ear is Lop Nur, so Lop Nor has the reputation of "the ear of the earth", and at the same time, it has a shocking name, "Sea of Death".
In the Tang Dynasty, Xuanzang traveled west to learn the scriptures, and recorded everything he saw and heard along the way in the "Records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty", and later generations found that when writing about the Dunhuang area, he wrote: "There are many evil spirits in the Sand River and those who encounter hot winds will die, and none of them will die", which shows that in the Tang Dynasty, the environment around Lop Nur was already very bad. Deserted, extremely arid, and grass as far as the eye can see, it has become the most harsh natural environment in China. Since ancient times, countless people have died here, and the bones of Lop Nur indicate the name of the Sea of Death of Lop Nur, and even more strangely, many people died not far from the spring. This did not stop the explorers, and throughout the ages, there was no shortage of tragic stories.
The mystery of the disappearance of scientists
On June 17, 1980, the famous scientist mysteriously disappeared during an investigation in Lop Nur. The state used a lot of resources, manpower and material resources to conduct a carpet search, but could not find anything in this place. Decades later, a dried corpse was found in Lop Nur, thought to be Pengjiam's body, and after several twists and turns, DNA identification was finally carried out, but it was confirmed that it was not Pengjiam. To this day, Peng Jiamu is still missing, a person who has conducted scientific expeditions in Xinjiang fifteen times and entered Lop Nur three times for expeditions, only left a note "I look east for a well", and disappeared in Lop Nur.
Yu Chunshun retook the road of Pengjiam
Sixteen years later, a professional explorer named Yu Chunshun re-embarked on the route taken by Pengjiamu with the intention of crossing Lop Nur on foot. But on June 18 of that year, Yu Chunshun was found dead in the area where Pengjiamu disappeared. Approaching time, the same place, what really happened to the two? Why are they all killed in Lop Nur? Compared with Pengjiamu, Yu Chunshun's exploration experience is richer, he has hiked the Sichuan-Tibet, Qinghai-Tibet, Yunnan-Tibet and China-Nepal highways, conquering the feat of the "third pole of the world", covering up to 40,000 kilometers. And before entering Lop Nur, Yu Chunshun was quite confident, plus the TV production team followed the filming. With such sufficient preparation, why was there still a death?
Busting the myth that you can't enter Lop Nor in June
Lop Nur in June is not a month worth exploring, with surface temperatures of up to 60 degrees Celsius, and before his expedition, he was advised to avoid the high temperature and windy weather in September and October. But Yu Chunshun insisted that he already had other plans in September and October, and with the follow-up filming of the TV station, the schedule could not be changed. Before leaving, Yu Chunshun said excitedly that he would be able to pass through Lop Nor smoothly and break the myth that he could not enter Lop Nor in June. But also in June, a scientist, an experienced explorer, was also killed in Lop Nur, one missing and the other dead.
Yu Chunshun's cause of death physical examination report was "acute dehydration caused by lack of water in a high temperature environment, and death from general failure", coincidentally, if Yu Chunshun could follow the original route, 3 kilometers further west, there would be a box full of mineral water and food, which could fully meet his needs. But why would a person with extensive experience in field life make such a big mistake, not only deviating from the route, but also missing supplies? When people found Yu Chunshun, they found that his head was facing Shanghai, and Yu Chunshun and Peng Jiamu were also Shanghainese. Everything seems to be too coincidental, the same time, similar places, the two people killed, the mystery around Lop Nur, like a large net, swallowing people.
