Life "derailed"
People in the village often say that Lao Shi's life trajectory is like a "U-shape". That's true.
In the 1990s, when he was still a small shi, he drove a tractor and ran a transportation, and he was a famous "little talent" in the neighborhood. In those years, the expenses were cut off, and there were thousands of dollars left every year, and the days were prosperous. Not to mention that later, the family also opened a prefabricated board factory.
Fast forward to 2007. Lao Shi's life was off track. That year, he was diagnosed with uremia.
He was unfortunate and lucky. After the diagnosis, his wife Tang Chuanyun took good care of him. After learning that only a kidney replacement can save her life, she did the matching on her husband's back for the first time, and finally donated a kidney to save her husband's life.
"When I was sick, it was really difficult at home." Shi Xianglong said that in the fight against the disease, not only did he empty his family's savings, but he also owed more than 100,000 yuan in foreign debt. "We borrowed all our relatives, friends, and villagers, and when we were most short of money, we borrowed one hundred or two hundred."
In 2014, his family was rated as a poor household with a record of lika.

Struggle to "take off the hat"

From the initial sticker to the balance, and then to the slight surplus later... In the first few years of farming, everything went according to plan. Until 2018, Lao Shi's career took a big step forward.
At that time, the county organized large grain growers to investigate rice and shrimp rotation in Xuyi and other places. Old Shi moved his heart. However, compared with rice cultivation, rice and shrimp rotation has high requirements, large inputs and many risks. Dry or not? After some deliberation, he chose the former.
Carrying a bank loan of more than 300,000 yuan, Lao Shi became the "first person to eat crabs" in the village.
"Watered in January, Edu algae (a submerged herb that can be used as bait for crayfish and purified water quality) in February, shrimp fry from March, commercial shrimp from April to June, seedlings planted in early July, and rice harvested in September." Lao Shi said that in some years, after harvesting rice, you can raise another crop of crayfish. "In this case, when the rice is harvested, 10 centimeters of rice stalks must be left to act as Ile algae."

According to him, rice and shrimp rotation can harvest 800 to 1,000 kilograms of rice per mu, which is less than simply planting rice, "because there is less medicine." Because of this, Lao Shi entrusted the processing of his own rice to the enterprise, and registered the "Shi Xianglong" brand to produce and sell rice and shrimp rice. In the current Baidanghu Village, nearly 4,000 acres of rice and shrimp fields are transferred by large households, of which the Lao Shi family has exceeded 600 acres.
It is not only the large households that benefit, but also the vast number of villagers. On the one hand, the transfer of land earns 500 yuan to 600 yuan per mu / year; on the other hand, an mu of land uses at least 5 to 6 workers. "Go to the field to help, earn 100 yuan less a day, and manage food." A local villager said.
