It had previously lost 11 consecutive away games, making it the worst team in the league on the road, and the defending champions were disgraced. Then they fought back, defeating the Lone Ranger today to win two straight and temporarily secure the top six in the West.

How did the turnaround come about? Just because they did the following three things right!

1. Give more trust to the bench.

In recent games with the Warriors, win or lose, the bench has been okay. Because Cole finally has a fairly regular rotation, giving Green, Lamb and Moody more trust than Kuminga and Poole that they can do the right thing.

Kuminga

As a result, the Warriors are currently 9th off the bench in scoring the league, and the defense is not very bad.

2. Let Poole do more of the work of dominating the ball.

Poole's offense has been inconsistent this season, especially with an impressive three-point shooting percentage and frequent single-point errors. But the Warriors had to use him to lead the bench, occasionally focusing more on passing given Kuminga's rise on the offensive end.

Poole

During the two-game winning streak on the road, 8 assists in one game and 6 assists in one game revitalized the attack well.

3. Protect the rebound and hit the basket more.

The Warriors' interior defense has always been relatively weak, and it is easy to suffer when encountering tall interior and powerful forward teams. The natural disadvantage of short height has made the Warriors change the way they play, using more joint defense and multi-person board grabbing, increasing the average height on the court to make up for the gap, and the Warriors are superior in rebounding protection in recent games.

Rooney reached a new career high

Due to the absence of the Warriors' main forward players this season, the impact has dropped significantly, and their defensive intensity has also decreased, resulting in the loss of one at both ends of the offensive and defensive ends. Having to rely on a large number of three-point shots to achieve offense instead of defense, winning by strength has become a sense of hand.

Fortunately, however, there is some momentum for improvement. More young people and role players are coming forward. The road ahead is long, but there is still light.
