The drug lord Escobar has done many evil deeds, why after his death, 30,000 people sent him off

author:Zhang Shengquan's wonderful history

For many drug lords, Pablo Escobarcan is a legend. He ignored the law, was arrogant, committed a series of brutal and bloody crimes, left the Colombian government helpless, and drove the United States crazy, but after his death, many people sang praises for him.

The drug lord Escobar has done many evil deeds, why after his death, 30,000 people sent him off

Escobar was born in 1949 to a poor family in Medellín, Colombia. His father was a farmer, but he did not return home for many years. He still has 6 brothers and sisters, so the burden of supporting their 7 brothers and sisters is all on his mother, who makes a living by teaching.

Poverty has exposed Escobar to a lot of white-eyed and unfair treatment from an early age. Once, because he didn't have shoes, he had to go to school barefoot. As a result, the teacher saw it and let him go home directly, which made Escobar feel deeply humiliated, and therefore made him desperate to become rich.

In Escobar's youth, Colombia was in constant turmoil, full of violence, assassinations and other incidents, and Escobar, who heard about it, took it for granted that violence was the magic weapon that could solve all problems.

For his part, Escobar never believed that reading could change his destiny. So after junior high school, he became a truant teenager, and for a long time he was mixed up with a bunch of hooligans on the street. And it was those people, like life mentors, who taught him what human nature is and how to find opportunities for survival in the cruel real life.

When Escobar was 16 years old, he finally made up his mind to be a gangster boss, and he was the kind of gangster boss who was full of echoes and fame. So Escobar began his struggle.

Escobar has done things like stealing cars, selling fake lottery tickets, smuggling cigarettes, fraud, etc... In short, he did all the criminal acts that the law did not allow.

Because he is righteous and proud, very generous to his subordinates, coupled with his great brains and courage, his temperament of being born to be the boss can often gain the respect of others. Many rogue goons followed him around in order to become his subordinates.

Escobar was the first to discover that stealing cars was a way to make money. Under his command, his men often took the stolen cars apart and sold them for parts. But because of the sheer number of thefts, which caused a crackdown on the police, Escobar paid bribes to the police, and the policemen called him brothers and sisters, and even issued him new car license plates so that he could sell the stolen cars directly.

It is precisely because the police and Escobar are in cahoots, so the people who have the car simply pay Escobar directly in order to prevent theft, in exchange for the safety of the car. So Escobar, whether he stole the car or not, he could make a lot of money.

Because of the white eyes and unfair treatment of the rich since childhood, Escobar also has a strong hatred of the rich, and he lets his men kidnap the rich and receive a high ransom from them. However, it is not the ransom that can be bought by the rich. For example, an entrepreneur who was very powerful in Medellín was kidnapped by Escobar, who, after receiving the ransom, allowed his men to kill the entrepreneur. Because in Escobar's view, the entrepreneur was already notorious, and the exploitation of workers was even more unconscionable, so he felt that he wanted to take a breath of evil for the people.

As Escobar had hoped, people rejoiced after the entrepreneur was killed and claimed that Escobar was "the Robin Hood of Colombia." For a while, many people admired him. Wherever he went, there were many people vying to shake his hand and bow to him.

Of course, whether it is stealing a car or kidnapping, it is not as fast as drug trafficking to make money. In the 1970s, Escobar began manufacturing and selling drugs to the United States, which was in the greatest demand, in exchange for a steady stream of money.

In Escobar's view, his selling of drugs to the United States was in itself an act of "patriotism." Therefore, he often taught his subordinates and cultivated the "patriotism" of his subordinates.

In just a few years, Escobar has made more than $3 billion from drug dealings and has been named one of the world's seven richest people by Fortune magazine.

At the same time as he had money, Escobar continued to recruit and buy weapons in large quantities. Soon, he formed an elite army of more than 40,000 people, and he also bought a special plane called the "Skylark" to transport drugs.

Of course, Escobar did not forget the poor, he built houses, hospitals and schools for the poor, and even provided jobs for 300,000 people. His deeds were embraced by the poor, and everyone called him a good man, and many felt extremely honored to serve him.

However, the Colombian government and the U.S. government have long targeted Escobar. But Escobar, with his wealth and power, did not pay much attention to the Colombian government. The policemen who pursued him were either corrupted by his money or killed in the streets. The judge who tried him was also retaliated against, and his wife and daughter were kidnapped and gang-raped. Even more arrogantly, when prosecutors issued a reward order for his arrest, he also posted a $100 million wanted notice to arrest the prosecutor. In the end, the poor prosecutor was shot 6 times in the head and died in his home.

In 1987, Escobar's brother Ochoa was arrested by the police, but the judge and the president in charge of the case resigned, and everyone knew the fate of provoking Escobar. In the end, even the attorney general had no choice but to revoke the arrest warrant and release Ochoa.

However, for the big drug lord Escobar, the US government is determined to get rid of him. Therefore, the US government saw that the Colombian government could not shake Escobar, so it has provided more than 300 million US dollars to the Colombian government as military, judicial and other aspects of assistance, and also sent a special forces force to help the Colombian government train military police.

In fact, the U.S. government began working with the Colombian government to arrest Escobar as early as 1984. However, several times the poisonous hole that surrounded him allowed him to escape. But the United States is also troubled, that there is no reason to carry out transnational military operations.

However, the time soon came. In 1989, Escobar not only killed many military police, but also assassinated presidential candidate Luis Garland, who was preparing to ramp up his efforts against drug traffickers.

Escobar's behavior completely angered the colombian government, and President Barco directly issued a "comprehensive anti-drug" order.

In order to give the government a little color, Escobar loaded bombs on commercial flights. Originally, he was planning to kill Garland's successor, Cecilia Gaviria, but Gaviria escaped by following advice and not boarding the plane before taking off, but the 110 passengers on the plane became unjustly killed.

The bombing of the plane caused an extremely bad impact at that time, and the United States even designated it as a terrorist incident. So the U.S. government became the embodiment of justice and sent sea, land, and air forces to hunt down Escobar.

Under the powerful bombardment of the American army, Escobar, who had suffered heavy losses, decided to surrender to the Colombian government. In order to negotiate terms with the Colombian government, Escobar has committed several more terrorist incidents. Nearly 500 policemen were killed in the process and the cousin of the new President, Gaviria, was buried alive.

Gaviria was forced to agree to Escobar's surrender, that is, he built a prison on the high hill of his hometown, in which he would live with his bodyguards, but the police could only monitor them 20 kilometers away.

Soon, Escobar built a super luxurious prison. He did live in prison, but he continued his drug trafficking business remotely. At the same time, he continued to recruit troops and horses, and he had the courage to make a comeback.

Apparently, the Colombian government also felt that Escobar had been tricked, so it was ready to put him in a real prison. Unexpectedly, Escobar quickly learned the news, so he "escaped" and escaped.

After Escobar escaped, the Colombian government conducted a blanket search across the country.

However, at this time, Escobar had long been the subject of U.S. surveillance, and Escobar had exposed his whereabouts after 16 months of prison escape because he made a phone call in an apartment. Soon, the U.S. SWAT team surrounded the apartment, and Escobar, who refused to surrender, was eventually outnumbered in a fierce gun battle and was killed by the U.S. SWAT team.

After the death of Escobar, whose hands were stained with blood, Colombian government officials cheered. But those ordinary people living at the bottom are all grief-stricken. Nearly 30,000 people spontaneously attended his funeral at the time of his burial in Escobar, so much so that the Colombian government had to send troops to maintain order.

Years later, Escobar's story was brought to the screen, and many people in Colombia still praised his charity when they talked about him, insisting that he was a good man who sided with the poor.
