Ubisoft unveiled a new AI tool, Ubisoft Ghostwriter, which Ubisoft says can assist script writers. Ubisoft Ghostwriter was developed by Ubisoft La Forge, the R&D arm of Ubisoft.
According to Ubisoft, Ubisoft Ghostwriter will be used to generate crowd chats and trigger first drafts of NPC lines. While these sounds and phrases are key to immersing players in their game world, Ubisoft says using AI to help do so will enable its narrative team to do less repetitive work.
Ubisoft wrote in the trailer description: "This tool was created hand-in-hand with the writers to create more realistic NPC interactions by generating variations of a dialogue. See how our team will use AI to handle repetitive tasks and free up time for other core game elements."
Last November, Ubisoft La Forge and Riot launched a joint research project aimed at combating harmful content in online game chat.
