Xiamen, September 30 (Xinhua) -- The 2021 Overseas Chinese Teachers (Malaysia) Online Workshop ended at Xiamen University on the 30th, with 169 Chinese teachers participating in the online study.

Hosted by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, undertaken by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Fujian Provincial Government and Xiamen University, and co-organized by the School of International Chinese Education/Overseas Education College of Xiamen University, the Board of Directors of Bukit Dingyi Chinese School in Mandarin, Malaysia, and the Fujian Overseas Chinese Education Development Center, the closing ceremony was held on the 30th, and all the trainees shared the bits and pieces of the training together.

In the 18-day "Cloud Classroom" study, the trainees who participated in the study either gained new knowledge in the training or refined their skills in the training, and some students learned online with their families to taste the colorful Minnan culture and add to the fun of life. In the course of training, they clearly defined the direction of choosing Chinese education and strengthened their original intention of engaging in Chinese education.

Ms. Chen Meixin is a special student of this training class, although she has 19 years of teaching experience, but the teaching experience as a Chinese teacher is less than 1 year. Because of the shortage of Chinese teachers at her school, Long Zhonghua School, she was entrusted with the responsibility of changing from a Malay teacher to a Chinese teacher. This training helped her rebuild her confidence.

"This is the first time in my life that I have systematically studied Chinese teaching. Speaking from the heart, all the knowledge and skills I needed related to Chinese teaching were learned in this 'cloud classroom'. In the process of training, this self-proclaimed "helpless and without Chinese roots" teacher felt the joy of learning Chinese education.

In this training, the longest teacher was a teacher from Ipoh Penang Independent Secondary School, Wu Liyuan, who has been engaged in Chinese education for 43 years. Teacher Wu said that there are two reasons why she chose to participate in this training, one is the love affair with Xiamen University, many years ago she represented the school to xiamen university to participate in the forum activities, and has a sense of trust and closeness to Xiamen University; the other reason is that she feels that she needs to recharge and need to keep pace with the times.

Ms. Han Baoni from Bukit Dingyi Chinese School has participated in a total of 10 Chinese teacher trainings organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, and she said that each training has different harvests: the advantages of offline training lie in face-to-face communication and personal experience of customs and customs; the advantages of online classes are familiar with the latest teaching platforms and online tools, and they are fully prepared for science and technology teaching.

This training has opened up a new world of Chinese teaching for this group of teachers who have not forgotten their original intentions to improve their professional level. (End)
