"Xinyiwu"
Hibiscus flower, red calyx in the mountains.
There was no one in the stream, and they opened and fell.
This "Xinyi Dock" was composed by the Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei,
The content of the poem is listed in the vernacular:
Hibiscus flowers at the top of the branches open bright red calyx in the mountains.
The mouth of the mountain stream was silent and there were no people, but it still opened up, and then withered alone.
"Xinyi" refers to hibiscus flowers and wood hibiscus.
So what kind of flower is hibiscus flower?
Hibiscus flower, also known as wood hibiscus, three-change flower, frost repellent flower.
There is a reason for the origin of these names.
The reason why it is called "hibiscus flower" is because its flower color, white, pink, yellow, like hibiscus out of water, bright like the petals of the hibiscus flower, so it is named "hibiscus flower".
Why is it called "wood hibiscus", this is because it is a woody plant itself, so it is reasonable to call it "wood hibiscus".
As for the reason for the name "three-change flower", it is because when hibiscus blooms, its flowers change three times a day, so it is called "three-change flower".
The "frost repellent flower" is because the hibiscus flowers only begin to bloom in late autumn, and after late autumn, the weather gradually gets colder, and the hibiscus flowers that open at this time naturally have to experience severe cold and frost.
But even so, the hibiscus flowers are still very beautiful, so they are named "frost repellent flowers".
Still others, because their petals are half silvery-white and half pink or purple, are called "Mandarin duck hibiscus".
Hibiscus flowers are beautiful and cute, not only have high ornamental value, but also hibiscus flowers have a certain absorption of sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and other harmful gases, at the same time, it also has the effect of purifying the air and absorbing dust.
As for the historical records of the cultivation of hibiscus flowers, according to historical records, the origin of hibiscus flowers is Hunan, the mainland, since the Tang Dynasty, in the area of the Xiangjiang River in Hunan Province, hibiscus flowers have been widely planted, so the Huxiang generation belt has the reputation of "Furong Country".
The legend of the hibiscus flower that circulates is related to Mrs. Flower Stamen.
Lady Hua Rui, a native of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, was the concubine of Meng Chang, the lord of Later Shu, and was deeply favored and named Lady Hua Rui.
Meng Chang was the last emperor of Later Shu during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, and later the Northern Song Dynasty sent troops to attack Shu, and Later Shu was defeated and surrendered. Meng Chang was made the Duke of Qin and died soon after. After his death, he was posthumously crowned King of Chu.
Before Meng Chang surrendered to the Song Dynasty, he ordered the planting of hibiscus in Chengdu City, and when the hibiscus flowers bloomed, they looked like splendid embroidery at a glance, so Chengdu was called Furong City and Rong City.
At that time, Meng Chang's concubine Lady Huali loved peony flowers and red mast flowers the most, Meng Chang loved Wu and Wu, so he let his subjects plant peony pills, and the red mast flower, according to legend, was offered by the Taoist Master Shen Tian, and there were only two seeds at that time. When it blooms, because of its six petals, the fragrance is very rare, and it is loved by the people, and this flower is the hibiscus flower.
Whenever hibiscus blooms, Chengdu is like a splendid embroidery. So it is called "Hibiscus City" and "Rong City".
Later, the Song Dynasty attacked the state of Shu, and Later Shu surrendered when it was defeated by the Song army, Meng Changdu surrendered, and his concubine Lady Hua Rui naturally became a prisoner.
One day, Zhao Kuangyin saw the beautiful Mrs. Huali and wanted Mrs. Huali to be her concubine. But Mrs. Hua Rui, not only unwilling, but also missed Meng Chang very much, so she secretly painted a portrait to show her lovesickness.
When Zhao Kuangyin found out, he was very angry and asked Mrs. Hua Rui. Mrs. Hua Rui said: "This portrait is the god of sending children, and everyone in the Shu Kingdom knows it."
After hearing this, Zhao Kuangyin did not delve into it, but asked Mrs. Hua Rui to hand over the portrait, but Mrs. Hua Rui resolutely refused to hand it over.
As the emperor, Zhao Kuangyin naturally could not tolerate the woman he liked and thought of others, so Zhao Kuangyin, who was furious, killed Mrs. Hua Rui.
The blood of Mrs. Huali when she was killed stained the hibiscus flowers in the courtyard.
Later, people took pity on Lady Huali's loyalty to love and honored her as the god of hibiscus flowers.
Thus, hibiscus flowers are also regarded as a love flower.
